It would definitely be very interesting to be able to rename local designs after they're acquired from abroad.

For instance, the A-4 Skyhawks the Argentinian Air Force employs are designated A-4AR Fightinghawks due to the modifications and upgrades made specifically for the Argentinian export version. This kind of redesignation is quite frequent (look at the T-55 variants across Eastern Europe and beyond) in the realm of military exports.

It probably doesn't warrant a whole new unit, and could be resolved through local design renaming. It's quite flavourful, and it would be a nice roleplay tool for players, too. Actually contemplating all the historical local redesignations would be time-consuming, granted, but give us the tool for starters. The rest can be a gradual process.

Good question. I just noticed with didn't post for .89

Did a quick check and now see why, there where to small fixes to some rare bugs. This is the proper thread for further questions :).

Here is a question.

Is it possible to add a variable for each region in the CVP file that tells them what regional textures they use? Ideally as multi-character strings to have more options.

E.g. Something like:

RegionalTextures Z1

If possible with multiples defined like say Z2,Z1 it would pick randomly between them.

Basically I am asking for a way to have more specific regional textures like a Syrian, Ukrainian or Romanian MiG-21 or multiple versions of a US F-4.
