United Kingdom - Bringing down Germany Quickly 8.1.3

Post by mikeownage »

I decided to show you guys how to manage the United Kingdom and take out Germany by late 1937.

Sorry about the video, part of the screen was cut off and I didn't notice until about 30 or so minutes in.

here is a link to the save game right after I defeated Germany.

Thanks a lot, that was entertaining. I'm sure some of the new players will find this helpful.

Btw, instead of excluding most of the designs, wouldn't it be easier just to manually choose which designs you want and then use 'continuous build'? That is what I usually do.

I like to exclude them that way I don't have to worry each time a facility finishes or a take new facilities while conquering other countries. I can also easily switch to producing a new upgraded unit with ease. The AI also tries to keep a balance between the units automatically.

I love seeing how others play, however if I played the way, I would get bored...

some rules I play by to make it harder

1. military setting is always hardest
2. You cannot add any improvements like oil to any area that only allows 2 improvements.
3. Improvements that are already done, but are in areas where the circle is not read enough for 4 improvements must be removed...recycled
4. You cannot trade tech with any other nation
5. You must develop your own designs
6. you can only add 2 new research facilities

thank you for posting your video

This exemplifies my worry about this game being too easy. Seems that everybody does whatever they want all the time with little trouble. I want to see people lose, nobody loses when they play with any major power.

Heh I recently bought SR2010. A really lovely game. However, graphics are really ugly. Even modern resolutions are not supported. And there is no world map. Only smaller areas to play in. But let's get back to the topic now.

You can make it support modern resolutions :)

If you don't know how to open the windows registry editor this article explains how: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/registry/ ... editor.htm

now that you know how to get to the windows registry editor the location you need to go to is either:
64 bit location
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BattleGoat\Supreme Ruler]

the 32 bit location may differ abit as Wow6432Node most likely won't exist this may be off I don't have a 32 bit os to double check with.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BattleGoat\Supreme Ruler]

The settings are:
Gamerezx = width
Gamerezy = height

I agree, There is nothing I enjoy more (not at the moment maybe :) then having to pause the game because I lost a major battle and must change my focus. The idea that I can build endless research facilities does not mean I should. The game can still be "gamed" for techs and military designs, but what value to game play would that bring? limits cause you to create combined force strategy to both hold an enemy at bay and advance in a way that has higher odds of positive losses (ratio in your favor). Because of this, even aircraft carriers become a useful tool because you have no other place to land your planes(treaty limits). Limits make the game much more real, that is why I have advanced the idea of a Parliament and world bank setting that have real in game affects.

For me, this has allowed this to become the greatest strategy game I have ever played and I started back when civ I was the rage...
