Units damaged by 50% when traded

Post by Micheal Berg »

Hi BG,

I`m playing a Cold War game and have noticed that once i sell units to another country, it shows up with 50% damage to the unit. It also happened to me when i purchased some units from the USA.

I am playing with merchant marine off, so the transfer of units is instantaneous

This is the first time i have seen this happen, although i normally play with MM on, so i don`t know if it is a bug or intentional.

I do not have a MOD installed and i am running the latest update from Steam.

If it is intentional, please can you re look at this. Who will ship units to a client state when it half destroyed? If not, please look into correcting it

Thanks
BM

This is why it's happening, you changed the setting

It is designed to simulate that things are packed in crates for shipping. You are also given the exact amount of Military Goods needed for the repair, so it only costs you time. In return, you can move a unit from Moscow to Houston instantly.

Thanks Balthagor, i see your reasoning for the setting.

It was frustrating though as i was attempting to assist South Vietnam against the North but the units i gifted them was not able to be used in combat right away....and could not for a long time as they had no barracks to repair in (SV had only one town left), but it ended well.

Thanks for your response

This means it's working as designed :)

are u sure about that???
maybe I wrong, but if I built a unit and spend 10M$ and 300t MG. When I sell that unit, the other country offer me 5M+ 150t MG in $.
so..my question is..why I must sell my unit at discount??

If they offer you 5M it's because that's all it's wort to them and would be the same issue if delivered undamanged/using merchant marine. The trade price is established before the unit has half it's Military Goods removed.

Yes, it's working as designed.

It has always sounded logical to me, allies would either receive stuff in a partially disassembled state, or old surplus that was stored for a long time and needs some de-rusting and some cosmoline scraping  plus, it simulates the need to train specialists locally so that they can use and maintain the new kit, and train new soldiers on it later on.
