Missiles and Unit ROE

There are several threads here about various missile issues but none I could find about this specific issue.

I have been experimenting with missiles, auto deploy and unit roles. In the past, if I set a sq of planes for anti shipping roles, while auto deploy was toggled on for missiles, they would only load AS missiles. This no longer seems to be the case. Somewhere along the line, this either changed to make no sense or it broke.

I would appreciate if others could test and either confirm, or tell me what I am failing to understand.

I noticed same thing. First it only deployed anti ship, and now it is broken. Not that big issue, the major issue is AI have this issue too, which makes missles another player only feature.

Are you saying AI knows how to switch roles for its airplanes and uses it? :lol: :wink:

I believe he means ai planes will have a variety of missiles loaded if it fits on the plane. You may see a plane in the interior of the Russian Federation, no where near water, with AS missiles loaded.

But that was the case even when the feature you referenced worked properly since planes by default have all roles enabled...I'm not saying his concerns are not valid just that I don't see how this 2 issues are connected

I was not detailed enough... I meant, now the ai and player are on a even footing, is what I took from his post. Humans have been able to pick and choose, e.i. not waste missile capacity on useless missiles, the ai never could...

Sry i understood wrong, thought we were talking purely about missiles. Players can load them manually.

After more testing I am convinced this is broke. No idea when or how, but it is. If it is not broke, it was changed and that makes zero sense. Why change a perfectly working feature to make it un-functionable.

It wasnt perfectly working in SRU, cause first it only deployed anti ship missiles.

But yeah about time stuff like this get fixed.
