SR-36/SRU Road to War - China Research Centers

Post by geminif4ucorsair »

In SR-36/SRU game, Road to war, Chinese research centers are not historical.
Beijing was little more than an provincial administrative district; it was not a research center.

The appropriate Research Center's should include:

* Nanking:

This as the Capital of the country, since the late-20s when the Kuomintang (KMT) captured the city and established their capital;

* Canton (Guangzhou):

This is the aeronautical center for the country, and location of first aircraft assembly (involving Curtiss P-36H Hawk aircraft (some sources indicate P-36A-5 was intended for Chinese manufacture but have doubts on this as some 200 were ordered by China with fixed-undercarriages from the prototype H-model); and, it had been a depot repair center for the KMT and southern warlord aircraft throughout the post-World War One period (a larger percentage of which had British or Italian origins).

Other than these two locations, there was very little basic research being done in China, due to the disruption of the Civil War with the Communists. And, in early-1936, Russian aircraft deliveries had yet to begin.
