Japan Campaign Crashing

Post by Stand_Sure_Anderson »

I don't know why but I have gotten past 1938 and the game randomly crashes its done this a couple times now.

Just curious to know if its a know bug or something of the like.

Is it because I made good with the Soviets and told Hitler where to go or something lol

Will give it a couple of days then try the save again just incase its just one of those random crashes that can happen with games at times.

Try and note the game date when it crashes and try to get a save that is close to that and we can try to recreate it on our side.

Thanks,

Thanks, ticket 21351.

And just to confirm, you have the latest update and this game was started after installing the latest update?

If anyone else feels like downloading the file and seeing if it crashes for them... (working on rails for 1914 currently)

I downloaded the save, let it run. Jan 6th came. Game paused and I got the fall of France notice and a goal of conquering Indo China. I then attacked Indo China, they fell on Jan 22, 1940. Save appears fine for me. No anomalies noted, other than the non historical Japan - USSR Agreements/treaties etc.

That is very odd, Its the only save doing it for me.

Every other game plays fine its just this one.

I may try downloading the save myself and deleting the original

On a whim, I continued playing. It is now Mar 6th, 1940. I have repaired all facilities on the map, reserved all units in Mainland Asia, and working on Economy. I annexed all of China.

It is now Aug 5th, 1940. The pop up for the Tripartite Pact came up. Only oddness about this is Italy no longer exists in game, which means there is no way to sign an agreement with Germany and Italy. I will agree anyway, for historical reasons. Germany owns Mainland Europe and the former Italian areas.

If you are still having issues on Jan 6th, let me know. I can let your save run until Jan 7th, save it and return it to you. Would be interesting to see what happens.

Aye Appreciated bud, I thought I'd prop up the Soviets for a fight against Germany, Italy got taken out when it decided to wage war on France and then when France was weakened the Germans attacked and took over France and what was Italy.

I was working on keeping the Americans Happy for as long as too really screw around with History.

I'll load the Japanese save tomorrow and let you know how it goes, either way have fun with the save

Ok I loaded up the save and it crashed on 6th Jan, so I deleted the file and downloaded my save that I uploaded here and it still crashed on the 6th.

@ Balthagor sorry I didn't see your post before, I have the game through steam and all updates are current.

GI has helped me before too lol

That is an oddity, I am at a loss to explain. I wonder why it would be ok on my machine and not on yours? Anyone else have an idea?

Have you modified or fiddled with your game files at all?

I wonder if it is a coincidence it happens on the day France falls?

I will try it a couple more times, letting it run from start of save, to see if it continues past Jan 6th, and if France falls on that day every time. Will post results when done.

All right, I let the save run three more times, each time on Jan 6th, the notice that France fell and I needed to claim Indo China came up. Since it crashes for you on Jan 6th, it may be related to that event? In all cases I let the game continue to run into Feb and and I conquered Indo China in each one, which did give me the "green check mark of completion".

Its just strange as hell that it does that for you and not myself when the save came from my game in the first place

I agree. But again, I have not touched my game files or added any type of mod or modification, ever. The event is a specific and needed thing for that particular mode/play through. Which is why I wonder if it has any bearing on the crash. Hopefully Mr. Latour will weigh in soon.
