Re: speed up game
I ran a game into 1996 last week and was still getting ~8sec/day. If you think you have a "slow" savegame, zip it and email it to me so I can test it. Please include ticket 20228 in the subject line.iponu wrote:in the years 1950+ my game is very slow because of the crazy amount of units

Can we have your pc specs? Please? 'Cause if it's an i7+16gb ram than your statement should be considered as trollingBalthagor wrote:I ran a game into 1996 last week and was still getting ~8sec/day.iponu wrote:in the years 1950+ my game is very slow because of the crazy amount of units

Re: speed up game
Just finished building my puter, some parts new, some not so new....I was told it was more important to put money towards the Video card and ram then it was the CPU...I spent approx. $850
motherboard Asus Sabbertooth 990FX
AMD 6 core CPU....
12 GB of Ram
HD 7950 video card has 3 GB of ram
Raptor 10,000 RPM hard drive
Large thermal lake case
650 watt power supply
This game runs fine with this set up, The 7950 is a very large card, so you need a full size case.....I think the I7 CPU from what I have read would be faster for this type of game (single thread vs multi thread)....I also believe game makers of the future will find ways to design their games to take advantage of the extra cores, but for now they are just extra cores. with 650 watt power supply you may find yourself limited as newer cards like the R9 280X/290X or GTX 670 and up use more power. It is also important that you do not go cheap on the brand of power supply!! I bought a corsair....If I had it to do over I would buy 1000 watts...I will in time upgrade to a SSD drive, but for now I will just have to suffer

Re: speed up game
@iponu - I agree that there is something in the savegame that is slowing things down. Not exactly sure what yet. Was that started with the latest update? Have you encountered this with other savegames?
We'll do some more analysis of your savegame, thanks for sending.

Re: speed up game
Am not sure about updates , but this game instance started about 2-3 month ago . And its the first time I ever reach that advanced in game time .
How ever i tried to play around with my computer and I increased the virtual memory to 20000 mb which reduced the problem alot . The game still lagged horribly and froze for minutes during last war with china where I had over 1000 units attack force .
