This is a continuation of recommended changes to ITALY, begun with: http://www.bgforums.com/forums/viewtopi ... 72&t=22262 - covering Italian aircraft industry changes.
* ADD: GENOVA (GENOA) -New Military Complex at: X877 Y183; Add: 4 x Naval Fabrication, 1 x Sea Port
- this is suggested as a separate location for the otherwise crowded existing M.C. already, covering Italian land fabrication, etc. These shipyards
are part of the larger complexes within the Porto veccchio area. Outside the inner port area were several quays built in the late-1930s.
- Cantiere Ansaldo SY - (Sestri Ponente) - builder of several cruisers (Bolzano, Montescuccoli, etc.), Navigatori Dds, Gabbiano & Spica classes.
- Ansaldo-Odero SY - (Sestri Ponente) - builder of Navigatori and Darbo class DDs, various Generali class torpedo boats, etc.
- Riva Trigoso SY - builder Navigatori and Soldati DDs, Spica escorts
- Cerusa - Genoa - builder of Gabbiano class escorts.
* CHANGE - Rename Livorno to LEGHORN - at Military Complex, add 1 x Sea Port
Add: 1 x Naval Fabrication slot - Orlando SY (est. 1866; change to Odero-Terni-Orlando firm in 1929). Builder of cruisers Trento, Pola, etc. and other ships.
* ADD: NAPOLI - Need here is for a new Military Complex or remove the Power-Coal plants and relocate them to adjoining hex inland;
Add: 4 x Naval Fabrication slots - representing four separate shipbuilding firms & marine railways available at Naples.
- Royal Shipyards - builder of DUILO battleship, Bande Nere light cruiser and others
- Officine e Cant Partenopei - builder of Folgore class DDs
- Naval Meccanica etal - builder of Animoso and Gabbiano classes
- Pattison Shipyard - builder of Sella class destroyers.
: ADD: PALERMO Military Complex - X909 Y203 hex - Add: 1 x Sea Pier, 1 x Naval Fabrication at location adjacent or within Palermo.
- C.N. Riuniti shipyard - built Ulpio Traino CL, Soldati class DDs, etc.
* ADD: VENEZIA (X895 Y177) - PORTO MAGHERA
- Add: 1 x Sea Port, 1 x Naval Fabrication - Breda shipyard - built Gabbiano class corvettes during war.
- Delete: 1 x Sea Pier
See: http://www.google.com/search?q=porto+ma ... 85&bih=717
and, https://www.port.venice.it/en/terminals.html
Note: MAGHERA or Porto Maghera is inland link from Venice (Venezia) and had its own shipyard (Breda owned) from the 1920s. This can all
be accommodated within the Venezia hex, by removing the Sea Pier and replace with Sea Port, and adding 1 x Naval Fabrication slot in the hex.
* ADD: FIUME - Add: 1 x Naval Fabrication - C.N. del Quararo SY - builder of Navigatori, Folgore DD, Spica escorts, Sirena subs.
---------
* Sea Piers to be added:
* LA MADDALENA - X883 Y202 - need to add tow, with: 1 x Sea Pier; was regular Italian naval base and MS center for northern Sardinia.
See: http://www.google.com/#q=la+maddalena+italy
* MESSINA (It. East Africa) - X921 Y218) - Add: 1 x Sea Pier
* BARI - X925 Y202 - Add: 1 x Sea Pier - widely used MS departure point for ships bound for Albania & North Africa during war.
* POLA (PULA) - X904 Y183 - change name to common Italian name of period; Add: 1 x Sea Port - major MS shipping port, northern Adriatic.

Typo.....
LEGHORN was most common name of the period for the shipyard facilities...
will come back and site good source reference work shortly....[old Jane's Fighting Ships
that have shipyard reference data are also useful sometimes in this "naming" search for
older periods.
