SR-36/SRU - Mitsubishi A7M Reppu (Hurricane) (Sam) - changes & additions

Post by geminif4ucorsair »

The Japanese are seriously short of aircraft designs from 1944 on, and there is a huge gap between then and the late-1960s, without any indigenous designs. This applies now to SR-36 and ultimately to SRU.

There are also some data and performance aspects of several existing designs that need specification improvement [BG: see ACCESS spreadsheet]. Over all, Japanese aircraft designs in the '43-46 period are seriously under-rated.

One is the Mitsubishi A7M (Reppu/Hurricane) (Allied: Sam).

-------------

Country: Japan
Region: Asia

UNIT: # 9983 A7M1 Model M50 Reppu (Hurricane) - change Name entry as to left.

Year: 1944 [change from original spreadsheet, 1943]
Technologies: Fighter Design Improvements, High Altitude Pressurization

Carrier Capable: Yes. [not currently rated as a carrier fighter]

------------
New for Game:

UNIT: #9419 A7M2 Model 22 Reppu (Hurricane) - add unit to game

Year: 1945
Technologies: Modern Prop Design; High Altitude Pressurization

Carrier Capable: Yes

----------

UNIT: # 9077 A7M3 Model 31 Reppu (Hurricane) - add unit to game

Year: 1946
Technologies: Modern Prop Design; High Altitude Pressurization

Carrier Capable: Yes
Note: Special A7M3-J was a land-based version but works best if just list as Carrier-capable fighter.

------------------

UNIT: #10742 A7M3-kai Model 51 Reppu (Hurricane) - add unit to game

Year: 1947
Technologies: Fighter Plane Design Improvements; High Altitude Pressurization

Carrier Capable: Yes
Note: Ahistorical design adding Fighter-Bomber capability to the basic A7M3; allows Japan to compete with
several other period designs (F8F-2 Bearcat, P-38J/M Lightning, Yak-9, Spitfire F.21, etc.]

----------
Thanks for considering.
