Question about buying units and manpower

So I accepted an offer to buy a bunch of infantry units because my unemployment is so low I worry about producing more infantry of my own (and driving up costs).
Question: Does the computer include the manpower of purchased units when determining unemployment% ? What about replacements for losses they suffer? I assume those come from my population.

Purchased units are only the equipment. Personnel to fill units when deploying to the map will always come from your own pool.

Darn. I should have kept the receipt and returned the units in that case. :(
