German subs

Post by GreenGoblin »

Playing as UK, how do you deal with them? I have tried using destroyers, but they get owned by the subs...

Not all ships can sink a sub....take the ships that have sub killing ability and group them into a stack of 7.....make sure the minister cannot control them and that their attack ability is set to engage.....if you are trying to protect your homeland, then you need to have them patrol inside your water space...this keeps them supplied...if you plan on attacking an area controlled by your enemy use a stack of 7 submarines...you must be aware of how much ammo they hold and with draw back to your home waters to reload...supply is key, no ammo and it really does not matter how good your ships are.....if you are trying to destroy a "normal" rout the enemy uses to try and land troops on your shores, add in 2 or 3 capital ships and leave them in a stack in your waters....be aware, combined arms are best, if your capital ships and escorts are parked in prime spot and destroying merchant ships, you need to consider supporting subs on patrol to keep subs away from your capital ships....the battleships in this game do not sink subs, so you must think of combined arms....
