Turn based?
From the review linked here

This caught my attention..
"...Of course over the next few turns I spent the majority of my time as the..."
Is the game turn based? I assume a professional would not make such a glaring mistake?

Re: Turn based?
It's realtime, but many calculations (building, research, economy, ...) are made only once a day. So I guess it's possible to name days as turns in some context... But surely it's not turnbased.

Re: Turn based?
Well... to be pedantic it is turn-based
In fact, if you really think about it, all games are
Just what we call 'real-time' are simply turns and actions being automatically processed with no programmed delay (any delay you do get is usually due to PC/Program performance), instead of it waiting for you to press an endturn button
But we tend to call these 'ticks' instead of 'turns'
Of course, I maybe completely talking out of my ass

Re: Turn based?
I can't agree with that. Turn based assume you have time (unlimited or limited by rules if multiplayer) to make some action that will affect your next turn. And opponent can't do things (or able in limited amount) that affect your current turn while you thinking and taking actions. And you can't take actions that affect opponent turn. So common 3d actions cannot be considered as turn based. But in this context SR and many other titles can be called partialy turn-based (think of VATS in Fallout 3).BigWolf wrote:In fact, if you really think about it, all games are

It's turn-based if you're in Europe and you play with a guy in California...

Re: Turn based?
I remember many times in lecture it seemed like time was passing in ticks. And tocks. And then sometimes the professor was an a$$ and reloaded because time went backwards.BigWolf wrote:Lol, I like your styleUglyr wrote:To be even more pedantic...
