The flag of China

In the game trailer, we can see the flag of China is Five-Star Red Flag, a symbol of Communist China.

I think it's a mistake and a misunderstand in the pre-war history of China.

In fact, Nationalist Government (Chinese Nationalist Party, KMT) controlled more provinces and areas than Communist Party and troops before 1945.

There's some references you may be interested:

I am wondering if it's possible to fix the problem before SR1936 launches.

It's funny to see Chiang Kai-shek lead Nationalist Government and fight Japanese invaders with a flag of Communist Party.

Also China look very united to me. There was a civil war at 1936, if not forget. [_]B

Which they all put aside to combat the Japanese at some point. But I do not think this will be modeled by BG. I do not think there will be any Chinese factions, no communist etc.
It is of course just a feeling I have, I have no knowledge of what they are doing other than what they type/show.

I've fixed the flags for China and Taiwan.
I've also fixed the leader of China.

As for civil war in China - we aren't planning to do much as in 1936, things had pretty much ended (things of the scope that we model) . The long march was over. etc.

If anyone can find specific reasons to break China into pieces to be modelled as separately owned regions make your case. Please provide a link for sources but also go on to explain what we should look at in the source. But keep in mind our focus is on the major regions.

China should not be "divided" as is the question, for Apr 1936.
I use quotes in this because it is mot a matter of Nationalist (KMT) versus Communist (CCP), but more a matter of Japan versus
Nationalist at this time.

Japan occupied Manchuria in 1931 and then expanded into the three northern warlord provinces prior to Apr 36. Thus,
what is needed is a Region identified as Manchuria + three northern Chinese provinces (will add them later), and the Nationalist
forces throughout the rest of China (except in Shansi (proper spelling in 1936)....which could be differently colored, though the major cities were still in Nationalist hands at-the-time in southern Shansi province). The communist forces were still attempting to rally after the "Long March", begun several years earlier.

Should give you some help with Japanese controlled areas, CCP areas, etc. Note Yunnan and Canton (not Guangzhou by Romanization at time) area separately colored, because of their control of different warlords. The "dark" Yellow colored area below Manchukuo (proper Japanese name for occupied Manchuria) are the three Chinese provinces under Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) control.

The "real war" (conventional) with Japan only started in the following year, in the aftermath of the Marco Polo Bridge incident,
in Shanghai.

In that sense, depending on how accurate BG wants the forthcoming game to be, that is what must be detailed.
