Map and units

Post by LOES »

In this topic I hope to post some issues that will give as the best possible and correct map and units in time of 1936 and after.

For example Yugoslavia in time before II World war had numerous airplane factories:
-"Z.Rogozanski" airplane factory in Novi Sad
-"Ikarus" airplane factory in Novi Sad
-"Zmaj" airplane factory in Zemun near Belgrade
-"Fabrika aeroplanskih motora s. Vlajkovic i komp" airplane factory in Belgrade
-"Vazduhoplovno tehnicki zavod" airplane factory in Kraljevo

There was airfields in every mentioned city used by military and factories for testing and flying planes.

Not everywhere that factories existed gets a factory in game since our factories can represent something larger than what existed at one location. Yugoslavia may only get a capacity of 3 so we'd pick 3 of the 5 locations you provided.

Give us locations is helpful though, as then we can pick between existing locations, so thank you.

Airplanes built under license or domestically in Yugoslavia Before WWII
-Branderburg, Fizir FN, Rogozarski Sim X, Rogozarski Sim XII-H, Rogozarski PVT, Rogozarski Sim XIV-H, R-100, Rogozarski R-313 IK-3, Hurricane Mk1, Potez 15, Hawker Fury, Bristol Blenheim, IK-2 Orkan, Dewoitine, FP-2, Spartan Cruisers, Dornier Do Y, Dornier Do 17 K, Breguet 19, Potez 25, Rogozarski R 313, Ikarus IO

It is interesting to notice that before WWII many planes were Floatplanes thus it should make possible for them to land on lakes and sea hex.

If you pick 3 location make 1 factory in hex near Novi Sad, 1 in Belgrade-Zemun and 1 in Kraljevo.

The Rogožarski SIM-X (Serbian Cyrillic: Рогожарски СИМ-X) was a Yugoslav single-engine sports and tourist plane also used for basic training of military pilots
We don't include training aircraft, although that does help us know what sort of technologies they had.

Also, any design built in small quantities may get substituted.

Several of the combat aircraft types mentioned above, for which licenses existed and were in production at the time of the German/Hungarian invasion of the Balkans. These, either previously or then under production, includes:
* * Bristol Blenheim I light bomber
* * Donier Do-17K light bomber (also in production)
* * Hawker Fury (previously built)
* * Breguet 19 and 25 (previously built)
* * Hurricane I fighter
* * IK-2 fighter - there was also the IK-3 planned for production.

The Yugoslav's had several interesting prototypes in development, including a re-engined Hurricane with Daimler-Benz DB-601 engine, that gave far better performance than original design.

Much like other countries that built design under license, BG would indicate that as "Build" options in the game. Other examples would include Thailand, which built the Curtiss Hawk III under license, but was not the original design (research) country. BG just has to designate these for Build within respective regions.
