Re: Missing Units
I know the Prinz Eugen survived; it was used in the Bikini atoll tests (along with the IJN Nagamo).
Mindless trivia--google maps, Kwajalien (sp) atoll; the Prinz Eugen was beached there and capsized after the tests; you can see it in satelite images (look in the southern atolls)

She sank on December 22nd, 1946 from damage recieved from both atomic weapons test on July 1st and 25th of 1946. This was pre-game start year of 1949 so I didn't include it.Aragos wrote:I know the Prinz Eugen survived; it was used in the Bikini atoll tests (along with the IJN Nagamo).

There are two British ship classes missing, the 4-King George V class battleships and 2-Audacious class fleet carriers. Specs for the KGV's are on pp22 and the Auddacious's on pp29 of Jane's Fighting Ships of WWII.
King George V, Duke of York and Anson were scraped in 1957 and the Howe in 1958.
R05 Eagle(ex-Audacious) was scraped in 1972 and R09 Arc Royal(ex-Irresistable) in 1979.

The 1960's era ships of the Bundesmarine, A59 Deutschland class cruiser (1-built), D181 Hamburg class destroyers (4-built), and the F220 Köln class frigates (6-built) are also missing. And I noticed that the DDG-2 C.F. Adams class destroyers (23-built) and the two sub-classes D38 Perth class (3-built)and D185 Lütjens class (3-built)are also missing.

Re: Missing Units
Can anyone confirm that the Aérospatiale Gazelle (SA.341/342) helicopter is missing from the game?

Re: Missing Units
Three German Cold War expiramental VTOL aircraft that could be added, the Donier Do31 transport, the VFW VAK191B and EWR VJ101 fighters (both modified F104 Starfighters). It would add a little fun to see what have happened just like the CF-105 Arrow or the TSR-1 of Britian.

Re: Missing Units
Britians Vickers Valiant B1 is in the game, but the other two of the "V-Bomber" triad are missing. The Hadley-Page Victor B2R/K2 and the longest serving Avro Vulcan B2A.

Was "rejected" by BG during creation of SR 2020 and never came back.....number47 wrote:Can anyone confirm that the Aérospatiale Gazelle (SA.341/342) helicopter is missing from the game?
there are lots of other military types (aircraft, ships, vehicles) that did not make SR - CW due to cut-off date in development ....
or as they say in CFL, "time ran out".

Re: Missing Units
These units made up the majority of the CW Bundesmarine, I'd say they are critical units.Col_Travis wrote:The Type XXIII class coastal subs are missing, 3 survived WWII and 2 were raised by West Germany, the S170 Hai and S171 Hecht survived until 1966 & 1968 respectivley. Re: Missing Units
No Jadgpanzer Kannone 4-5 (JPz-K) or Roketenjadgpanzer 1 or 2 (RJPz) for Germany, 770 were built for the bundeswehr and 80 for the Belgian army.

Re: Missing Units
Right thread this time, hopefully.
Couple units missing I believe. Not sure if they were mentioned before.
1. Pershing Missile- Missing both Pershing I and II missiles. Primary tactical missile for the US from the 60's to 80's. II had the range to hit moscow from W. Germany. Also could throw in its launcher which I belive was based off the M113 and would be a "hard" target. It was light enough to be moved around by CH-47's.
2. B-70 Bomber- Advanced into protoype phase but cut due to SecDef hating airplanes in the 60's. Would serve as the replacement for the B-52. 2 version could be included, the bomber and then a strategic recon version.
3. XF-108- Long range interceptor/escort. Cut due to bomber mainia during the 50's. Would have served as the follow on to the F-106 series.
4. MTB-70- Joint project with Germany and US. Canceled due to cost issues, and I believe would have spawned a series of vechiles such as SPAAG's etc..
5. Skybolt ALBM is missing as well. Would also be researchable by Britian as they were going to use it. Instead, canceled due to cost and replaced in UK by the Polaris system
6. I also think you could include the Soviet version of the B-70, the T-4/SU-100. Slightly smaller then the B-70, but same role.
7. M-50 bounder does not appear to be in game as well. Built into protoype form but canceled in favor of ICBM's.
8. Little unsure on this, but is the M-4 Bison in game? I don't recall seeing it, and it was one of the first generation Jet bombers for the USSR.
All I can think of right now. Might add some more if I catch them.

Re: Missing Units
Also noticed the Sgt. York SPAAG is missing from the US.
2. A couple of the US navy's nuclear one-off cruiser designs aren't present, but that's not a huge priority since they were one off designs of conventionally powered ships.
