Wait! it seems it DID work!!! :-) :-)
It has been 5 days and I didn't "leak" any military goods!! I gues it had to pass few days after they all left HUH
Wow, I can finaly build some units now :D :D but I still feel crapy because of Finland.

Balthagor, is there any other way I could make them leave without sacrificing Finland?

I know I ain't Balthagor, but why can't you just go into multiplayer and order all the units out normally, no war being declared...?

Ain't you the smart one.... :lol: :lol:
Seriously, I hate using the multiplayer save to solve anything :evil: it just feels wrong (feels like cheating) :wink:

EDIT: it is 5 countries that are present there as the "support", I'd hate to have to load the game as all 5 nation to send them home but even that would be better than sacrificing Finland :oops:

Any movement on game speed/destack bug? V:7.2.2

In my game as Iraq in 55', im getting about 1:36 per day, and thats on a top end machine, so its not hardware slowing things down.
Im seeing probably 500+ units trying to destack from:
Hong Kong
Honalulu
Garapan
Diego Garcia
Mamoudzou.

I can give a save game if you like.

Everything was fine until South Korea declared war on China. (Currently that is the only ongoing war).

There no news yet on a fix for this? Probably the most pressing issue out there!

Speed hasn't proven too bad for me at the moment, Oct 1952, about 30 -40 secs a day which isn't bad given I have a hunk of junk that I am using to play the game.

With FOW on, relations hot and everything else normal.

I can assure you they are looking at it. Destacking code + merchant marines = pain in the arse though. :lol:
We probably won't know of a fix until maybe a week before the update is released though. ( I think we coaxed the release notes out of them 3 days before the release last time)

Ya its really hit and miss with the destack issue. Some games you'll never see it, others its horrendous. Really depends on the wars etc that play out. The fact that NATO nations send troops to help another NATO leaning nation, even if they don't have any actual alliance makes it far worse than it could be.

Fixing that alone would reduce the frequency. For example in the above screenshots you see Turkey sending troops over there.. but turkey can't do anything because they have no treaties with SK. So they go to the friendly port nearest to the battle, which happens to be Garapan. They are sending troops to help the U.S. but can't help because the U.S. is not actually at war but in a proxy war. If the AI differentiated between whether or not its actual ally was at war or not it would reduce the frequency it pops up. Although not totally fix the issue.

I won't pretend to know whether that would actually be easier to fix than the destack code, but imho both should be looked at. :wink:

True to the point! I had same save game experience 2:50 min a day lag and after the war ended or another few opened the speed improved to 50 sec a day and than again droped to 2:50min a day :lol: so it is pretty insane at my side :evil:

I actually found that the worst situation is when there are no wars, or there are only low intensity wars going on. As soon as new wars pop up, especially between bigger nations, situation gets better...huge level of units destruction probably has something to do with this :D

I do only run the game on fast, as it seems to run quicker then fastest since my laptop can't keep up with all the extra caculations. Try just running your game on fast and see if it makes any difference too.

I'll do that when I came home from work and I'll post the times per day on fastest and on fast...

WTF??? HUH

I did the testing as promised but the results are far from what anyone sane would have expected :-?

These are speed results (per 1 day) on following settings:
Fastest = 2:09
Very fast = 2:00
Fast = 1:58
Normal = 1:52

:o :o These are all done by measuring only one day so I know they are not representable results but still...WTF??? HUH
My kid is sick so I have no time to do longer test but if he feels better tomorow I'll do the 10 day test on all 4 settings mentioned above to see if this is a fluke :-?

Its simple why it works. At the fastest speed the game has too many calculations trying to be done, so they backup and slow the game down. On normal it has far less so it can do them all at once, making it run smoother.

Based on that it defeats the entire point of having a fastest game speed...

Thought I'd have a dabble. Those piccys are 13 June, I'm at 20 June of the same year, and things has sped up quite a lot, (since I saved, loaded in multi and started a few wars, he he he.).

So for this test, I thought it only best to reload every test and do it on the same day, so 20th June was selected.

Fastest: 0:50
Very Fast: 0.54
Fast: 0:55
Normal: 0:57

Those are my test times, shame for this paticular game really, as in my Argentinian game I'm on Dec 11 1953, and it's whisteling through at a poultry 0:08 per day. Yay for Argie, Boo for Iraq... :lol:
