Adding/deleting resources and facilities on the map
I haven't bought the game yet. I'm still thinking about it. I've read some of the supremewiki but couldn't find some answers. I wanted to know:
1. Can we add/delete resources on the map through modding? If so is there a tutorial or instructions on how to go about it?
2. Can we add/remove facilities and industry? Can dams be added through mods?
3. Can mods be played in sandbox mode? If so how?
4. In the game, East Pakistan is a colony of Pakistan. Can the game be modded so that East Pakistan or all the territories/hexes that fall under east Pakistan are a proper part of Pakistan? If so How?
5. Any recommended tools for modding the map?
6. Is there a need for SRCW trainer? If so for what purpose? (I'm only asking because I've seen a post on this forum about it).

3. Yes! You simply see mods in scenario list, so you start them like any stock scenario....

Modifying the resources on the map would require a map editor and there is no such modding tool. You can change the facilities and some of who owns which blocks of land within the areas that have been defined. Not sure if the geographical area you are referencing works out or not.

Re: Adding/deleting resources and facilities on the map
I've finally bought the game from steam.
A few more modding questions?
Can two countries be merged into one through modding? For example, can Saudi Arabia and Pakistan be merged into one country? During the cold war there was a brief unification of Eqypt and Syria. So can we replicate this in other countries as well (in the sandbox mode)?

Yes, you can merge any number of existing countries into a new country (or existing one).irfanahmed1979 wrote: Can two countries be merged into one through modding? Re: Adding/deleting resources and facilities on the map
One common issue when editing any text files is that if you do not have the option of "show extentions" on in windows you end up with files named for example yourmod.csv.txt and you don't know it because the .txt is hidden. make sure you turn on the ability to see full file names.irfanahmed1979 wrote:I tried unsuccessfully and gave up on modding. :(

The extensions were fine but the line in the MyMod.Scenario file where it is written:Fistalis wrote:One common issue when editing any text files is that if you do not have the option of "show extentions" on in windows you end up with files named for example yourmod.csv.txt and you don't know it because the .txt is hidden. make sure you turn on the ability to see full file names.irfanahmed1979 wrote:I tried unsuccessfully and gave up on modding. :(
#ifset 0x04
&&SAV
savfile "Cold War"
&&END
I changed Cold War to MyMod and this time it worked!
