The above solution sounds like it would work. I experienced this also, but was able to solve it by changing file permissions (have to take ownership of the folder, etc.). As far as I know, though, this is a permissions glitch with Vista and Windows 7; not everyone has this problem, and I didn't used to, but after reformatting and reinstalling Vista, this suddenly happened. Like Windows just randomly decides that you don't need write access to certain, extremely common, directories anymore.
If you decide to change the permissions of Program Files and have problems, let me know, as it can be somewhat tricky if you haven't messed with it before.
