Naming facilities

Post by Jopo »

Ok, to my knowledge, you cannot give a new facility a name, it´s name is only it´s coordinates. Can we have a change in this please? I´d like to name all the bases and factory complexes that I build. :D

Yes you can give new facilites names. in the OOF file. I asume you are talking about naming hexes not facilities? I have done this many times in my mod. its pretty simple to add new cities, just time consuming.

Code: Select all

21100,186,242,"EDWARDS AFB",0,0,0, ,1,0.8,0,0,1,1,0,1.570796,
21100 = the buidling type found in the .Units file
186 = X cordinates on the map
242 = Y coridnates on the map
"EDWARDS AFB" = the name of the hex
0 = ? (does not matter as all are 0)
0 = ? (does not matter as all are 0)
0 = ? (does not matter as all are 0)
1 = the position on the hex. Valid numbers are 0-6. 0 is the North western, 1 Is the northern, 2 is the North Eastern, 3 is the South West, 4 Is the south, 5 Is the South Eastern, 6 is the Center.
0.8 = ? (Must be 0.8? as the number for all the current ones is 0.8
0 = ? (does not matter as all are 0)
0 = ? (does not matter as all are 0)
1 = ? (does not matter as all are 1)
1 = ? (does not matter as all are 1)
0 = ? (does not matter as all are 0)
1.570796 = ? I suspect it has somthing todo with how much popution is given to that hex, Although that woud be a real pain in the ass if that is the case.

No, I´m talking about naming the facilities IN GAME, when you are playing. To my knowledge you can´t name locations inside the game, you have to do it by modding the files.
