GUI Mods

Post by Balthagor »

While I'm still really busy with the ongoing work for SRCW, I wanted to take a moment to start a thread for GUI mods. I did some of these previously and expect to make a couple again. I'll add to this post as I make new ones.

GUI Mods

Mod#1 - Expanded Finance Data
  • Adds data including inflation/unemployment as a tooltip on the upper area of the finance dept.
Mod1.jpg
Mod1.zip
Installation: Unzip the files to the /Haps directory, overwrite files as needed.

Mod#2 - Netbook Resolution
  • Adjustments to Lobby screens to make the lobby contents accessible at 1024x600
    Version 1.1 update; Player Profile screen updated
1024X600_Menus_v1.1.jpg
1024X600_Menus_v1.1.zip
Installation: Unzip the files to the /Haps directory, overwrite files as needed.

Mod#3 - BattleGroup Controls
A new GUI mod, not heavily tested, use at your own risk until I get feedback;
  • Attempt to put BattleGroup controls back into Defense - Selected panel. May have side effects...
BattleGroup GUI.rar
Installation: Unzip the files to the /Haps directory, overwrite files as needed.

Mod#4 - HUDs
A new GUI mod, not heavily tested, use at your own risk until I get feedback - Chris L.;
  • All 3 unit HUD designs modified
  • Full zoomed in HUD - bars narrowed to make total size smaller
  • Change from Full zoomed in HUD to Mid zoom HUD now happens earlier when zooming out
  • Mid zoom HUD - bars narrowed and shortened to make total size smaller
  • Change from Mid zoom HUD to High zoom HUD now happens later when zooming out
  • High zoom HUD - concept flipped. Instead of dropping the bars and keeping the flag, now drops the flag and keeps the bars.
  • Many HUD positions tweaked because size changes causes the "more units in hex" shift left to be by too many pixels

HUDS.rar
Installation: Unzip the files to the /Haps directory, overwrite files as needed.

Could this be added as standard in the next update for CW?

Not in the way I've created it. Well, okay, it could but it won't. It'll stay a mod till we get a way more consistent with the rest of the GUI to put this data back in.

Yes I did :) I was making a joke. Our mods can never compare to the sheer awesomeness of a dev mod because we can't edit certain things (such as the terrain hexes unless someone knows otherwise PLEASE tell me)

Do an uninstall/reinstall if you're missing multiple files.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a feature, where you can look at the whole world at once and see each locations sphere of influence.

Just to point out/insure I am correct...

This is now included in the game by default if you patch to the latest version.
Much Thanks
