Pretty much This.

I've put all my modding on hold until we see update 3, I'm still lurking, just spend more time on other things while waiting for update 3.

Korean war always starts in your mod. Is that intended or??? Can it be fixed so it doesn't start always and every single time??

It doesn't start every time. With very high volatility settings the chances of it starting are rather high, on the other hand with low or no volatility its less likely to occur. Its not a scripted war, its the AI deciding to declare, so the only way to prevent it would be to reduce tensions between NK and SK. (reducing volatility settings does this)

I imagine it kicks off every time on excluded, but that option was only included for people who want to jump right into war, the suggest volatility would be medium or high. On medium the chances of Korea going to war is probably something like 80%, higher volatility settings increase the chance with excluded probably being like 99% chance.

Other things like your diplomacy difficulty settings may affect this as well.. with very low difficulty on diplomacy AI nations slowly get negative relations toward each other.

That being said, I haven't touched the NK/SK relations in probably 8 months(when I originally set them,less than a year after the shelling of Yeonpyeong, Tensions were at an extreme high point ) so I may tweak it in the next version. Which will be out probably sometime in august or early september depending on when BG gives us Update 3.

I restarted Modern world at least 20 times by now. Volatility was always set at normal/medium. And Korean war always broke within first month. Mostly within first week. I was sure that it was scripted. Thanks for clarifying this :P
Looking forward on new version of the mod!

I can't design and fix stuff for an update I don't have access to. As soon as update 3 is released I'll resume working on my mods.

All changes that are in the current Beta. Which Are:


  • Updated Myanamars flag
  • China Is now the Red Sphere Leader
  • Redid Governement types based on the Stats on Totalitarianists and Freedom Under democracy index
  • Database update- Starting GDP for countries should be much closer to reality. Most should be spot on for 2011 IMF PPP but a few are slightly off due to relying on regional stats.
  • Oceanic Complexes now function as ports. This enables units to Embark from them preventing Units from Getting stuck on them
  • Reduced the Amount of Military Personnel used by Military Fabrication facilities
  • Military Fabrication facilities can now be built on any Complex type
  • Merchant marines are almost undetectable. This is to help the AI since it has a bad habit of sending waves of them to their death. (Also.. lets be honest here in most cases you can't tell what a ship is carrying at a glance so how can someone single these ships out for attack?)
  • DataBase update. Nations starting Available Military personnel should be nearer to current figures.
  • Added Putin and an event to have him take over Russia, but the date is off as of now
  • Slightly reduced the costs of Social spending

+ Updates to leadership and relations that have changed.
+The meshes which you can see here: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=19989
(Note I sent these to BG by request, so depending on what they did with them I may not have to include them in the mod :wink: )

+ anything noted in my forums by users as an issue. (If you have something specific to add please do it prior to update 3 release Here)

Other than that I will be spending alot of time adjusting it for any new systems, Fixes and features that come with Update 3. Note that some of my fixes, such as the Oceanic complexes functioning as ports may not be needed if BG as fixed the issues that it was meant to work around. As such I will have to Undo those.
I won't have a complete List of changes ready until It's ready. (and even then its likely that i'll change some things and forget to put it in the changelog)
