22 years after the first natural antibiotic, Penicillin was discovered by Alexander Fleming, Philippine medical researchers have managed to develop the first commercial version of antibiotics in the Philippines. Using the approach of Ernst Chain, Howard Florey and Alexander Fleming, Filipino medical researchers have managed to create an almost similar antibiotic but it differed in the cost of producing such drug commercially in that the Philippine version was cheaper. The production of antibiotics is now under full swing in most major laboratories across the country and the first batch is expected to be released to the public by late-1952 or early 1953, pending production rights to be approved by the Department of Commerce and Industry.

A number of Latin American and Middle Eastern countries have moved from Non-Aligned stance in the Cold War to a USA Leaning stance. This is connection with the victory of NATO forces in Korea and the major offensives in North Vietnam. On the other hand, Albania, a former USSR-aligned nation has now reverted to a USSR-leaning nation having seen the string of defeats suffered by communist bloc in the recent months. US President Harry Truman sent his regards to the nations that have changed stance and hopes to increase political, economic and military ties with the said nations.

Afghanistan, another pro-Soviet nation, has announced their disappointment over the string of defeats suffered by the communist bloc. Afghan leader, Mohammad Zahir Shah hopes that the USSR and China would manage to push back the armies of the NATO soon. He also said that due to the changing of stance by Pakistan and the pressure already mounting along the southern border with the said country, he has opted to decrease a couple of controversial ties with Moscow and Beijing, which was met by fierce criticism by the communist bloc.

Romania, a communist nation occupied and controlled by the Soviet government, announces its dismay with the continuous defeats suffered by the communist bloc in Vietnam. Rael is believed to be a hardline socialist, however, it is not yet known if he believes in the Marxist communism followed by the USSR and other communist nations across the globe. For now, Presidential Spokesperson Aldrin Roberto said in a press statement that the President Quirino congratulates Guatemala for the successful national elections and hopes to open up treaties that would be beneficial to both nations despite the differences in views of both heads of state.

The Republic of China, commonly referred to as Taiwan, under the leadership of Chiang Kai-shek has announced its full support to the NATO efforts, especially in Asia. He announced that his nation will now be changing stance and will open up treaties that would hopefully pave the way to making Taiwan and major NATO ally in the region. No word from Malacanang Palace about this recent development

December 1, 1950

Guatemala has nationalized US holdings in its country. This move has been met with disapproval among US businessmen and the US government also condemned the move stating that, "...it has communism written all over it." The President has acknowledged the move by Guatemala but does not comment on its implications. However, political and economic analysts state that since Azariel Rael is a socialist, he may very well also be a Marxist and that this is just a small step into making Guatemala a communist nation.

Good day to everyone! I will not be able to post any new report since I will be on vacation until the 28th. For now, to make my AAR a little more interactive. I would like to hear from you, the readers. Try to answer as best as you can, I will REALLY appreciate you posting. :)

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO IMPROVE IN THIS AAR? (Be as honest as possible. Don't hold back. I won't take it against you. 8) )

Also, since 1950 has just finished, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ME ACHIEVE IN 1951? (I won't promise that I will be able to do what you ask, especially if it's not within the goals I have set for this AAR but I will do my best to achieve that)

The more comments, the merrier! Thanks so much and hope to see you again next week! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
