Player Hundane as leader of the USA.

Start Date: Oct 8th 1949

Goals of this game.

1. Avoid an all out Nuclear war with the Soviet Union.
2. Collapse the Soviet Sphere
3. Be the First to put a man on the Moon.

Strategies and Houserules

Diplomatic:

Any new Formal Alliances will have to be offered by the AI. I will not offer a Formal Alliance to a region.
Mutual Defence Treaties I will offer but will keep to minimun to try to reduce the stacking issues. Ill probally
make a MD treaty with 3rd world regions more than with the NATO members.
All other treaties will be made if possible as needed.

Research:

To make it more realistic and harder on myself to win the Space Race, I have decided that I will research every unit
design the USA has available that has a Tech Level of 1950 or over and will research or started research on all regular
Techs and Unit Designs before beginning research on ERA Techs.

I will sell unit designs and Techs with the following house rules.
All the beginning/starting designs except for Submarines and Carriers can be sold to any region along with the
appropriate Techs required.

All starting and future Medical and Society Techs can be sold to any region.

All other Techs can only be sold to Formal Alliance members.

Any future unit designs can be sold to any region but only if they have the required Techs, and the unit design is 10
years past the Tech level. Exceptions to the 10 year rule are for Patrol and Transport Aircraft, Naval Transport and Patrol
Ships and Ground Transport designs.

I due plan to add 3 Research Centers to bring my total up to 10 research slots. I will also be gifting all my unit
designs and known Techs to my colonies. I may get lucky and have them research something for me at a later date.

I will not buy Techs or Unit Designs from other regions except the U.N. and my colonies.

Military:

Micromanagement nightmare. I plan on reducing my military to start. One of the 1st things Ill do is merge all the infantry
and tanks and aircraft I that I can. A time consuming process. Im also going to scrap alot of the Carriers and start
selling off some of the destroyers and stuffs. Patrol aircraft will be split and put into patrols along US borders and moniter
possible hotspots, subs will be sent to various spots around the globe. Naval Patrols will be set up along the US coastlines.

For game flavor I will entrench a legged infantry at every Military Complex. At every Seaport I will entrench A Marine Unit
and at every AirBase I will entrench a Paratrooper. The rest will be entrenched with legged Infantry. At least 1 unit of
Fighter/Interceptor aircraft will positioned at all US airbases. The first military units Ill be building will supply trucks,
units to fill the complexes if needed, supply aircraft and probally updated interceptors once researched. May build some big
supply ships for the Navy. (fits my playstyle on fleets).

All except 2 Carriers (1 East Coast, 1 West Coast) will be put into reserves until capable of fielding a full compliment of aircraft.
Havent decided exactly how many Carriers I plan to use in total.

The units in Japan will be moved into Defensive positions in South Korea.
The units in German will be brought to the US except for the Infantry and they will put into defensive positions in West Germany.

The Units in PR will be moved to the US.

Some units will be scrapped or sold to various regions.

A Military Complex will be built in Guam. It will contain an Airbase, Barracks and a Seaport.

All the SuperFortress Bombers will be sent to the Strategic Reserves.

Future plans:

Build Missile Fabrications
Help defend Europe from Soviet Aggressions
Help defend Asian Democracies and Allied colonies from Soviet and Chinese aggressions by proxy
Help Israel Defend its territory.
Support pro American and/or pro Democracy movements around the world.

Immediate Plans for the conflict in North Vietnam:
The US will help its ally France by providing Political support, Intel and supplies. No combat troops will be sent to the region at this
time.

Economic:

I want to promote not only my own economy but the economy worldwide. To do this I need to become a major Importer of
some commodities and be able to generate some cash flow here at home. I decided that Military Goods will
make a good export commodity and Ill import alot of Consumer Goods. I will need to deal with how I generate Power,
I plan on eventually scrapping all the Petro Power plants to cut down on my Petro demand and replacing with Coal Power
which will later need to be replaced with either Nuclear Power or Other.

It will take sometime to achieve but eventually I hope to have it like this,

Commodities for Major export
Military Goods

Commodities for minor export
Industrial Goods
Agriculture

Commodities that will be highly Imported
Consumer Goods
Timber
Coal

Commodities that will be slightly imported
Ore
Uranium

Commodities to be Sustained
Electric Power
Petro
water

Social Spendings:

Health Care- recommended
Education- recommended + 50%
Infrastructure- recommended +50%
Enviroment- Recommended -50%
Family Subsidy- Recommended -50%
Law Enforcement- Recommended
Cultural Subsidy- Recommended -50%
Social Assistance- Recommmended -50%

Taxes:
Low Income 20%
High Income 65%
Corporate 45%
Small Business 34.8%
Sales Tax 10%
Unemployment 6%
Property Tax 5%
Pension Tax 6%

Taxes and Social Spending can only be adjusted in the months of October, January, April and July.

Price Controls: I would like keep domestic prices at around 25-30% markup. Demand may increase those markups but they wont go over 100%.

The AAR will take the form of monthly reports and show a daily log of most events.

Screenshots will probally be added to show certain informations.

Each month Ill do a basic summary of the events. If you dont like all the detail above you can just skip down to this area for each month and get a basic idea of whats happening. Ill add all the screenshots noted in the events into this area. I also keep a monthly saved game for any info anyone may want or additional screenshots from that month (the 1st day of following month).

October 1949 Summary

China and Taiwan signed a Ceasefire agreement and Isreal and Middle Eastern regions seemed to have to relaxed to a peaceful state. The only conflict in the world currently is between North Vietnam and the French colonies of South Vietnam and Laos.

Hundane has promised support to France in the way of providing Military Goods at this time. No immediate plans to send combat troops to the area. There are some patrol planes providing some recon of Chinese military movements in the area around Hong Kong to North Vietnam.

French troops have control of most of the NV area around the capital of Thainguyen. (see screenshot).

The 1st phase of military reorganization and redeployments is pretty much complete. Every Airbase has a Fighter unit on air patrol over its area.
Only 2 military complexes need to have legged units in place before that part of redeployment phase is completed. Marine units will need to be trained to replace the infantry covering the seaports and fill up the existing marine units to full manpower. All legged infantry were merged together. All armor units (if possible) were merged, and all air units (if possible) were merged.

Patrols were set up to moniter the Mexican border, Cuba, the Caribean, The Gulf of Mexico, The East Coast, The West Coast, East Germany, South Korean Borders with China and Russia, Suez Canal,Panama Canal, The Indonesian Straits,Straits of Gibralter,The Black Sea, Barents Sea and Baltic Sea. Also patrols around Hawaii, the oceanic colonies, Taiwan and Japan.

Several carriers were scrapped and have began selling off unneeded destroyers and frigates to other regions. Old AA units were also scrapped. Motorised infantry Units abroad were brought back stateside to be sold to other regions at a later date. Legged infantry were entrenched in positions in South Korea and in West Germany. All but 3 air units were taken out of Japan. Most were repositioned in South Korea. Others were brought back stateside.

The Treasury is running a deficit of around -100M a day. Running a Trade Deficit of about the same. A worldwide shortage of timber has depleted our stockpile and the stockpiles of most other regions.

Building of facilities has started in the area around the Dallas/Ft Worth Metro Area.

Plans for November

Military buildup will be slow until units in research are available. Aircraft are a priority.
Building power and agri facilities also looks to be a high priority for the coming months, although this timber shortage may need to be addressed.
Probally will send some artillery to both West Germany and South Korea to beef up those positions there. Will continue to work diplomatic deals when possible, especially to sell off old equipment and slim down the military and recover research
costs on Medical Techs.

Will keep an eye on the North Vietnam situation. (a previous game turned ugly for France). Im not sure how Ill respond yet to a further escalation of the war. My thoughts at the moment are to stay away from the area but if France and its Allies start losing I may have to intervene. Then again I may take a different strategy and try to maintain the status quo by using other regions in the area to fight my wars.

New Zealand LOS Treaty.

November Summary

Theres seems to be a worldwide Agriculture and Timber shortage for most of worlds regions. Its going to be a rough winter in the Northern Hemisphere as
most of those regions have no stockpiles of either.

The Hundane Adminstrations policies are starting to show promise, production costs and unemployment are going down. Education and Health care is improving.
Anaylists predict continued growth for corporate and small buisness sectors as well as the high income area while the low income sector will maintain little
to no growth.

Los Angeles and New York were picked as areas to increase supply. Supply depots are being built at Burbank and Yonkers

Military redeployment and reorganization continues but at a much smaller pace than in October. More of naval ships were sold to other regions to help beef
up their security and reduce our military reserve spending.

Construction was started on an Airbase at Guam. This will also include a Seaport. Barracks are being built in Gitmo.

More diplomacy was conducted this past month. Most of it was selling some Medical Techs some Techs to aid in Food Processing and Storage.

The conflict in North Vietnam has toned down somewhat since the announcement of Alliance between China and North Vietnam. Intel sources have determined
that France is sending more units to the area and the UK is sending units into the area (singapore) but its undertermined if they will be sent to South
Vietnam at this time. A small force of Belgium units are being redeployed from its African colonies to Vietnam. The USA continues to morally support
France and its Allies and will continue to sell them MG's and other war materials.

Plans for December

Continue building facilities. . More Agriculture facilites will need to built. Pick new Areas for Supply Depots.

Continue working diplomacy

Continue to streamline and upgrade military.

India is also facing the Agriculture shortage. They seem to be taking steps to solve their problem.

I applaud the detail that you put into this but perhaps the time would be better spent playing the game? I'll read it but I don't know if others will.
