Well, here is my new AAR I've been planning on for a while. Basically, you have the Ethiopian Empire (me).

Actual Policies:

7. Size- (2,713,600 km2)

My Own role play of this:
(1948)- Ethiopia's King dies.
1949- Capitol moved from Addis Abebba to Nazret
(1948-1949)- The citizens of Ethiopia declare the monarch blood line to be illegitimate, and clash with military personnel.
1949- Military crushes anti-royal rebels.Rebel dissidents escape to Kenya & Eritrea.
1949- Monarch resumes control over Ethiopia through the single party system under the ELPC (Ethiopian Liberal Progressive Coalition).renames Ethiopia to "Empire of Ethiopia".
1949- Ethiopia launches invasion of Eritrea,Somalia,Somaliland,Djibouti. Ethiopia takes over these territories and annexes them.
1952- Ethiopia takes over island chains from North Yemen in a bloodless war. Ethiopia seizes 3 islands (including Hadiboh)
1956- Ethiopia invades and takes over Sudan.
1957- Ethiopia declares Cultural Revolution and elects Somali to be official language. Amharic looses official status.
1957- ELPC morphs into the IETFP (Imperial Ethiopian Trade Federalist Party). ELPC is dissolved into IETFP.
1957- Ethiopia declares all forms of Religion illegal. (Although illegal, it becomes uncommon to arrest people for religion after the 1957 purge. It remains in place as a discrimination factor.The Ethiopian government justified this ban due to radical parties trying to emerge & religious conflicts in Darfur & Somaliland.)
1957- Ethiopia passes multiple anti-discrimination bills that include: homeland,ethnicity,gender, psychical complexion ,orientation,societal hierarchy,physical & mental disabilities.

The Far Future So far...
1993- Aum Shinrikyo is sold 160 Acres of space outside of Ad Damir .They are also granted free from tariffs & Free to set up "Educational schools". (Aum Shinrikyo was allowed to operate in Ethiopia because they filed their Visa to say, "Personal Happiness Opportunities" & not "Non profit Religious".However, World leaders suspect a scam or possible Aum Shinrikyo sympathizers in the Ethiopian government.)
1995- Japan & Ethiopia relations strain due to Ethiopia allowing Aum Shinrikyo operate activities within Ethiopia.

In Game Date: November 22, 1958-

News 1:
Emperor Nishan of Ethiopia formally declares that as part of the national initiative to build a stronger Ethiopia, the rebels who escaped a decade ago must be tried for their crimes during the massive anti-government protests. As well, Emperor Nishan states that the rebels were responsible for acting as terrorist and murdering those who supported the new Emperor. To back up his claim, he explains that all people, regardless if they were peasants or high ranking officials, the rebels slaughtered any pro-government backers.

"The greatest challenge for the Ethiopian people is that those who killed their relatives, assassinated their governors and mayors are still breathing on this earth. Those who caused such destruction and invaded entire towns and cities are still around. This is unacceptable and the Empire will not tolerate terrorism on this continent or the next. I have commenced the Imperial Security Authority (ISA) to find, arrest and transport these rebels back to the Empire for trial. As for the rebels and where they are now, my most recent intelligence report states that half of the rebel dissidents are in rural parts of Sudan, 30% in Kenya and 20% have fled to other parts of this continent and other continents. Regardless where they are now,I have one message for them: You will be found and put to justice as much as the power invested in this Empire can do."

Actually, the economy is a giant scam Ethiopia's economy was doing fine on it's own until 1950 something, then it crashed when I started using up all the industrial goods to fund huge construction projects. Being on the verge of financial fallout, I decided to cheat. I don't regret it at all My GDP/C survived along with my million man army. If my economy had failed, I think this AAR would have been finished.

After you reminded me about my AAR and my stimulus, I took another look at it and realized my economy could self sustain with moderate taxation . I officially ended the infinite Stimulus plan.

News 2:

The Imperial Ethiopian Trade Party declares taxes must be re-instated.

However, there will be NO Pension Tax and NO Property Tax under the "Good Integrity Act", Passed on January 5th, 1960.

The Good Integrity Act declares:
1. There shall not be federal or state taxation on privately owned property
a.When someone purchases land in the Ethiopian Empire, that land is solely their's until marketing of it or death, thus it is not tax-able.
b.This law is AMENDABLE

(Declaration 2 is officially Imperial Codex C-24A)
2. There shall never be federal or state taxation on pension funds
a.Those who reach the age of retirement, age 60 in the Ethiopian Empire, are exempt from taxes concerning retirement funds or programs.
b.This law is a NON-AMENDABLE


*Dis-obeying or not following Imperial Codex C-24A is punished by all the following listed below:
Charge A-Corruption
Charge B-Embezzlement
Charge C-Robbery
Charge D-Treason against Civilian interests
Charge E-Treason against the Empire
Charge F-Defying Imperial Codex

Maximum sentencing- 25 years-Life (x4 Life sentences maximum limit)
**One Life sentence in Ethiopian Empire is equivalent to 84 years (the current in game life expectation in Ethiopia)

The charges above are unalienable to offenders of Imperial Codex C-24A and must be punished with ALL of the charges listed above.

You will notice The Ethiopian Empire can give rather drastic jail sentencings and non-evident charges to criminals..

How the Ethiopian Empire came to be--

Imperial Family by age (1900-1949)
King Addis-->Prince Nishan-->Prince Yuura--->Prince Sonid--->Prince Alsirit

The story starts with Prince Sonid of Ethiopia,who lead the Ethiopian military during it's time of peril resisting foreign invasion from the Axis powers of the time. Durring his time on the battlefield during ww2 working with the Allies in the middle east, he wrote a diary over a span of 6 years discussing the liberal ideology of early Europe. He was amazed at the various forms of government in Europe and how their societies functioned.After the war, he traveled the World and radicalized his diary into a book. This book, known as the "Yellow Diary", was more progressively imagined than any European society at the time would have even known was possible, even more liberal than compared to today's standards of liberal ideology. Prince Sonid went back to Ethiopia after being abroad at age 31 and published copies for only the Monarch's lineage and close associates. The current King of Ethiopia was staunchly against Prince Sonid's ideological theories. (Possibly because The King suspected Prince Sonid to be communist.) Prince Sonid, out of rage, expatriated from Ethiopia and moved to Geneva.

Back in Ethiopia, the other Prince, Prince Nishan (this name sound familiar?), read the Yellow book his brother had given him.He personally was enthusiastic about it's ideology, but kept this a secret from his father, the king.He wrote his brother letters about the book for almost two years. In 1946, Prince Sonid is killed after fatally being hit by a car. The Ethiopian King refused to allow his son's body to be returned to Ethiopia, so Prince Sonid was buried near his farmhouse outside of Geneva. The King's harshness to his son over the past years deeply angered Prince Nishan, who was deeply moved by his brother's theories.

1949, the king is diagnosed with Pneumonia and his health begins to decline. Prince Nishan, decides to carry out a coup and persuades the Imperial guard Captain Amjiltan, a former friend of Prince Sonid, to assassinate the King. Amjiltan and the Imperial guard lead an invasion upon the Imperial Palace, killing loyalist to the King who refused to join Prince Nishan's revolt. Prince Alsirit, is found in his quarters, having apparently hanged himself. The king is captured and a make shift trial is carried out that same hour, within a span of 5 minutes, the King is sentenced to death. The king is escorted to the Palace gardens and bayoneted to death. Prince Nishan is proclaimed emperor that same day. The only other surviving Prince, Prince Yuura, was not present at the palace during the coup. Prince Yuura hears of the news and organized a massive retribution against Nishan's new government.

Prince Yuura finds king sympathizers rather easily being not many civilians recognized Nishan as illegitimate.Yuura's forces officialy declare themselves the United Monarch Party or UMP.He arms his forces to conduct terror tactics against Nishan's army. These terror tactics worked rather well, as they involved the most violent of circumstances upon Nishan's loyalist. Prince Yuura however, is labled a war criminal by the UN. Although it is recognized that he never targeted innocents, it was obvious that targeting any government officials in any nation will gain one this infamy. The UMP continues to terrorize his brothers loyalists for the next 5 years from his hidden base of operations. Prince Yuura officially abandons his post as General of the UMP and fleas to Shanghai, where he was given asylum in secrecy.

Since this AAR seems to be getting significant interest lately, should I continue the current story on which topic????

1.) Ethiopia's future

I'm choosing Yuura.

1954- Prince Yuura arrives in Shanghai after being granted safe political assylum. Without any idea how or where to start his new life, he writes a letter to the Chinese central government for advice.

“...I would like to take this moment to express my dearest appreciation for granting me safety. I wish the circumstances of my arrival were less trivial on all fronts, which I’m most uncertain how to handle. I ask of the Chinese government if I may serve under there advise, what ever that may translate to.I believe the only way to fully understand my purpose to continue life would be to serve the nation that saved me from total peril and my imminent death.

January 30th, 1954”

He was re-sent a response a week later:

“...Indeed, it is a most humble honor for the People’s Republic of China to help out a wise tactician. The People’s Council has been most hospitable, as to offer you a great position among the People’s Liberation Army as a Senior Advisor (Lieutenant Colonel) of the Chinese People’s interest and aid to our Vietnamese counterparts.If you are interested, please send in a confirmation letter and all legal work (including citizenship naturalization papers.) It would be a great honor if you decide to dedicate your employment to the People’s Republic of China. Understand, serving your new country of residence is the best way to gain respect and power in the People’s Republic and outside the nation.

February 6th, 1954”

On February 12th, Prince Yuura was enlisted as a Chinese Senior Advisor to the Viet Minh movement against the French.Yuura was the youngest Lieutenant Colonel in Chinese history,at which he was only 27 when he accepted this ranking. He was allowed to retain his title as “Prince Yuura”, but was asked to drop any affiliation with his Nobility lineage, including when he signed letters or official documents.

On February 20th, Yuura reaches the current Viet Minh capitol in Việt Bắc, where he is greeted by Ho Chi Minh. It was most apparent that Since Prince Yuura was indeed from nobility, he was mistrusted by the Chinese and Vietnamese forces in the early days of his service. However, he proved that his former military experience leading the UMP would prove invaluable in the fields of strategy and terror/psychological warfare.

Battle of Dien Bien Phu- 1954

As the Viet Minh were aware, their artillery units had made great impact on French positions in battle before. Prince Yuura recommended to Vietnamese General Giap that artillery & mortars be positioned randomly around the French outpost and to use misguided shelling of Dien Bien Phu to throw the French forces off. Although Giap understood Yuura’s intention, he decided to go with the artillery idea but amended it to positioning all batteries north of the French camp.

Giap’s and Yuura’s plan seemed to work. French Colonel Charles Piroth committed suicide due to his inability to bring counter fire to Viet Minh forces.

After reaching the decision to move to other issues, Prince Yuura found confronting the French mobile tank units was far more difficult than he planned, which were successful in nearly annihilating one of his advisory units. He was able to re-guide them safely back the Viet Minh territory.He was able to use his victory from the devastating tank confrontations to avoid French fighter bombers, who which would slaughter many of Giap’s soldiers.

Prince Yuura continued to assault the entrenched soldiers at camp Gabrielle by using artillery to pound the combined Algerian & French forces. Although the French did try to relieve the soldiers at camp Gabrielle, most of the relieve forces were killed from Yuura’s bombardment. Eventually, Gabrielle’s defenders fled the camp. Yuura then moved his soldiers to meet up with Giap’s soldiers further north.

After Giap & Prince Yuura coalitioned a final attack on camp Eliane to wipe out the remaining French forces at Dien Bien Phu. After defeating the remaining 3,000 resistance, Viet Minh forces had a total captured of 11,721 French soldiers.


After the battle, Yuura was promoted to rank of Brigadier General so that he could take over Wei Guoqing’s advisory post in Vietnam. After Yuura’s take over of Chinese operations in Vietnam, his military & economic advisory period lasted from 1954-1962. The Vietnamese respected is efforts for not using civilians as designated targets of his terror tactics. Although Giap recommended to Yuura to use punji sticks to injure that year, Yuura claimed:

“I’m inclined to not use such weapons because I represent the People’s Liberation Army. I wouldn’t build spike traps for even enemies of China’s interests.”

For almost a decade, Prince Yuura had been leading the Chinese efforts to aid the Vietnamese communist. His own private army consisting of trained native T’ai soldiers, reached it’s zenith at 26,000 strong by 1957. The private army was simply called the T’ai People’s Division. The difference between Yuura’s army and the Vietnamese army was that his was privately his own, as long as he didn’t abandon or betray his post in Vietnam. His division was especially dedicated to giving the native T’ai people a common ground away from the majority ethnic Vietnamese army.

His division was created as assistance to the Vietnamese attacks and defenses. However, the division did often carry out it’s own operations covertly from Vietnamese knowledge.
The division lasted until 1962, when it was merged with the central military.

The western nations did take notice of Yuura and began researching more of his background and service records.

The media and news, however, took the word Prince and the idea of him working for the Chinese too far. The coined him as “The Last Prince Of China”.
This gained him huge amounts of popularity among the world, even though it was a terribly misleading name.It became common interest among journalist to try and meet Yuura. However, he ordered his private division to make sure no NGO met with him.

Ethiopia never responded to the news reportings on Yuura.

In 1962, US & South Vietnamese forces seiged Yuura’s HQ on the Laos border at Huong Phung. For six weeks, Yuura was able to hold off the Coalitioned attack. However, his private army had sustained heavy casualties and many had deserted.

In the third week of fighting, the Chinese government officially transmissioned him a letter of non-optional resignation and stripping of his military ranks. The Chinese government told the Vietnamese that Yuura was a liable target from all sides now, including their own.

Prince Yuura and his remaining 6,000 soldiers,out of the original 19,000 defenders, fought on for the next three weeks. The situation inside Yuura’s underground compound grew more tense by the day. Suicide became common among his soldiers, as well as desertion. After a total of 6 weeks of fighting, Yuura had only an estimated 1,000 soldiers left.


He gave them one last preparation speech for the escape plan.

“I have seen many killing in my time. Now I will see more. You shall see as well. Don’t be afraid of the enemy, for he is afraid of you.We will make a run for the Laotian side of the river. As you know, we are short on bullets. I expect you to be courteous about your death and use only bayonets on the enemy if you are confronted by them on the way. I finally ask every soldier to remove his uniform and be only in his plain shirt and shoes. This way, if you escape alive, they will not know who you are.
Good bye”

That night, the division was given the order to abandon the underground HQ and to survive to make it to the Laotian side of the border . Prince Yuura and his closest soldiers made the attempt to cross the Mekong River. Although dead bodies overwhelmed most of the now blood red river, the Mekong was their only way out.

Under heavy gun fire and cannon fire, Yuura was able to escape and regroup with about 300 other survivors. He lead the survivors to the Ho Chi Minh trail and ordered them to put their uniforms back on and to march to safety. However, he himself would not be joining them. He was a marked man and departed separately from his unit. He began walking south into Cambodia and eventually made his way to Thailand, where he could get a boat and leave.

In the outside world, it was recorded that Prince Yuura had died in 1962 at age 35.

When he arrived in Bangkok, he found that his 10 million Chinese Yuan assets had been frozen. He began to look around for work. Eventually, he found work at a bar serving American GIs,under a different identity of course. Yuura went to the Thai Customs board and told them he was a Laotian refugee. He was granted Thai citizenship the new name of “Norang Chaosawatt”. He continued work at the bar for only 5 more months and transferred to working at a soy sauce processing plant for two years.

Norang realized his years of military were over and decided to pursue other interests in economics and applied to Bangkok University. His grades in mathematics gained him the prestige he needed to become a economic advisor for British Petroleum. Although offered a higher paying position in BP in England, he turned it down so that he could stay in Thailand working under the BP wing. Almost a decade later, Norang discovered that the financial savings of his old identity, Prince Yuura, had been in Switzerland since the Chinese government was never granted access to his assets. He knew all the necessary information needed to open his old assets and thus open his old vault back up. His assets had acquired great value, exceeding $40 million with the last decade alone. He then sold his Thai house and moved to South Korea and purchased a 12,000 square feet mansion outside of Seoul...And eventually he did marry at the age of 45 and had one child that same year. Norang never did tell the world his true identity until on his death bed in 2002. (Dying at age 75)
