Is there anything to gain from a larger unit crew (column O)? I can only think of downsides like more pressure on manpower, higher costs with it and maybe more casualties taken. Would an APC with 11 men (crew plus soldiers carried) in game have any advantage over one that has 7 for example just because of this value?

AFAIK your assessment is correct. The stat is primarily used to promote realistic manpower usage for real units. For example many UAVs have 0 personnel and other than their horrible stats in comparison to manned units they function just as well. (but need no reserve personell to man so thats primarily their main advantage, the smallest of nations with the smallest of reserves could build a mighty UAV airforce if so inclined.)

Apc's can also be modded to transport foot soldier units. The crew number now will include only the crew, not passengers, and passengers will be separate infantry units, loaded and unloaded. The firepower will be renegotiated too. This will give them a new tactical role, but it will be very difficult everytime to load and to unload them. and the foot soldiers must increase firepower and survivability. At present they are completely useless outside cities.

Now I will return to the start of the topic:

What relation have battle time and ammo capacity with attack and defense values?
How much time takes to do the referred damage, and how much ammo is consumed?
And is the attack value, equal to the defense points that a unit loses until to die?

I want to brush up on this topic...
ok combat time is how many hours the unit can fight before is out of ammo...

so if we have:
unit A :attack=30 c.t.=2
unit B :attack=50 c.t.=1

which unit is best?
unit A attack 30 for 2 times or it attack 15+15??
thanks

So in the combat time hours the unit consumes the ammo capacity tons, removing from the target defense points equal to it's attack points.

no. George has never shown me the actual equation, I don't have the answer for this part.
