Power question

Post by GreenGoblin »

Out of interest, does power other become more efficient due to techs over the course of the game?

It becomes more efficient but never really efficient enought compared with other sources like coal or later nuclear...

Since enviroment polution is not coded in the game, the best way to go is coal unless you have uranium in your country.

Damn those replies were quick!

Has anyone done any calculations to see how long before hydro/power-other start to pay for themselves? Surely once original costs are covered by selling the electricity it becomes progressively more profitable, because you don't need to buy fuel.

The question I have is how long this takes in-game to kick in?

There's some old threads under 2020, economy where some extensive research was done. I don't know how much things have changed in CW, I know all the values were tweaked but the underlying system hasn't changed much.

Also bear in mind that the bonus from the techs never show on the facility description in game, it only ever shows the base value.
