Controlling the army.
Sometimes manually controlling a whole army is quite frustrating and time consuming , does anyone just leave most of it to the ai, or control a few selected units?

I always have a collection of specialist teams, my 'special forces', land and air based, and use the battle control zones to guide the AI to control the rest of the military units. Works quite well for me.

Re: Controlling the army.
Last time I let AI control anything, I went in debt and lost my 5 wars in Asia as the United States.
Stick with controlling it yourself, everyone's better off doing so.
