Would be interesting to see the AI do things like build industrial plants in other countries (raise the GDP of the recieving country, but it doesn't get the resource--only an increase in $$ to the populace).

For that matter, I would like to see the AI build industrial plants in its own country more. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I'm not sure if I've ever seen the AI build any sort of industrial facility in a hex that didn't previously have any. I could be wrong though...

Hey guys, sorry if this is off at a tangent to the current discussion on industrial and military spending as % of GDP, but in a future sr (or even a patch for the current one(s) maybe?) I would really like to see Wright-Patterson Air Force Base added in to the game. I know that the U.S. has hundreds of bases and that you can't easily include them all, but Wright-Patterson is THE biggest base in the whole Air Force. I think that there is an airstrip in the town where its at (Fairfield, Ohio, I think), but don't you think that the biggest Air Force base in the U.S. deserves a little more than an airfield in Fairfield?

(although to be honest in 1949 it probably wasn't much more than an airfield, in my modern world mod its an airbase.. but the only real difference in game terms between the 2 afaik is the costs...)

True enough. Airfields are great for staging planes from place to place, but airbases are much better--repair, reserve a/c, and I think they have a larger capacity.

According to wikipedia, Wright-Patt had close to 50,000 personnel employed at the peak of WW2, not to mention the first modern paved runway. I don't know what kind of cutbacks that they had after the war was over, but I doubt that it had become small again by 1949.

Palsnuke has a point. See also my comments, posted over on the part of the forum suggested by Fistalis: http://www.bgforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=18227&start=30

Wright-Patt's importance in the US military/industrial establishment (notably aero-space R & D) dates back at least to the late 1940s

[_]OT ??

I'd like to see a century long sandbox version - Start in the copper age and let it run well past the space age. An option to 'plant towns' that grow over time.(more build slots!) Insurrection's and creation of nation-states would need to be included. & the ability to change forms of government

I'd love a way to play as the British Empire from year 0 to 1500, then switch to a fledgling colony from 1500 to ?? Or as Rome, Israel, China etc etc ..

Change the face of the planet.

all ala SRCW

Don't change the period [Cold War or 2020 is fine*]. Change the game engine. It is totally outdated and you are not winning many new players with sticking to the old tiny little boxes and billions of clicks per campaign. Economy need complete revamp. For starters separate oil and gas, make uranium really rare, expensive to mine, complicated to process, transform and sell. Pollution!!! It is finally time to make it count. Metal Ore need a split at least into 2 segment - common and rare ores. Right now it doesn't matter if you need 20M tons of iron ore, 30M of copper and 50M of nickel or tungsten. As long as you have 100M Ore you can build anything. There is plenty of stuff which need a lot of love but if I had to pick one I will scream: Economy !!!

* - on the other hand start in 1900 would be nice :D
