Has anyone else noticed that even after you colonise a nation the new leadership is likely to be diplomatically outraged with you.

I know this has little bearing on gameplay as a colony will accept any and all treaties from its controlling country, however it would be nice that after I install a figurehead government into office that government actually likes me, even if the people continue to hate me!

I agree. Like you imply, colonizing a preexisting nation/region pretty much implies that you are installing a puppet government, or at the very least, a government that swears loyalty to you.

It makes perfect sense that the people would hate you, but even that should begin to down in a realistic time frame.

While this may have little, if any, effect on gameplay, small things like this nag at me, as well, considering the amount of roleplaying I do while playing.

the fact a colony hates you,and the fact that after a coup your relations shows as delighted when playing as a democratic nation is something that i find odd.
It is weird that you receive the news that someone made a coup, cut all relations with your country, and you love them for this.

When I liberate colonies of other countries, the public opinion is so low it is impossible to sign treaties. The US did not colonize West Germany but still has/had giant military bases in DE.
