That is completely untrue, they ask for lots of stuff. And we don't just consider what ppl on this forum ask for, there is a bigger picture than that.

What is the larger picture in this case?
There are several features in the game that still need polish.

Agreed, and we're working on that.

I'd like to add something to this thread, that I think gets forgotten by players.

I started computer gaming in the mist of the past (late 1970s) on the first PCs (board, war and RPGs before then). As an aside, I write game reviews for a couple of mags, and have been an alpha and beta tester for numerous games over the past 20 or so years. So, yeah, I sort of know how the system works, at least from an amateur's viewpoint.

Folks have forgotten what it was like then--you buy a game, maybe it worked right, maybe it didn't. You send in a postcard, maybe--just maybe--they'll send you a floppy disk (or cassette!) with an update/patch. A good 95% of games were never updated. Instead, updates were often just repackaged Ver 1 games with a new box and called "[something] II."

There was no direct comms with the developers and programmers; little to no feedback (other than reviews in trade mags) to what players wanted. The Internet changed all that, for both good and ill. On the good side, players can actually give direct feedback to devs--who often never have the time to actually playtest every single piece of a game, or the multitude of variations in systems and gameplay (the latter esp applies to strategy games--a linear FPS is really, really easy to playtest in comparision to SRCW or CivV; there are just too many options for play).

So what? Ok, a couple of things come to mind. 1) Devs have to expect players to grumble. There is a great reason why old wargamers are referred to as 'grognards' (ref: Napoleonic veteran infantry). Belly aching, whining, and so forth goes together with thoughtful and respectful suggestions to improve the play experience. 2) Players need to understand in a complex game, nothing is "simple." 'Simply fix the X problem, and I'll be happy." Well, umm, ok. Your suggestion is the 110,000th we have and will go in the box. With a big game (like CivV or Skyrim) you have hundreds of folks on the team, from PR people to programmers. A small group like BattleGoat doesn't--a couple of dudes trying to make a living and make a fun game for players.

Simply put, be respectful in suggestions to the devs. They have a lot going on. And devs need to listen to what the players are saying; they are the market for the product.

The fact that people complain so much for an update speaks volumes for how much we like the game. I'd say that's a good sign.

Agree 100%. There's complaining and then there's complaining :)

Exactly.
Its already is allot of fun to play SRCW, the game has great potential.
Some areas of the game however need some work to make it a more wholesome experience.

AI Espionage, Insurgency Modelling...etc.

The question is (and that is what I meant by "big picture") what can be done and what feature would be most appreciated.

It will be secret, apart from the destack bug fixing (and I few other things I think, mainly to do with crashes)
