BG can't you guys atleast give small patches in a more reasonable time frame?? It's may 15th for cryin out loud.. I'm sure people would appreciate any little updates. Don't have to be major game changes

I wonder what you mean when you say you 're busy playing the game.
My understanding of playing a strategy game is taking certain decisions, taking according action, waiting for my opponent's reaction (AI in this case), and then again taking decisions.

For this, I also devote some time of my day so that i enjoy it, let's say an hour or two.
If, just because, one in-game day takes two or three minutes to complete, I cannot take any decisions and way until next day to see my action completed. This kills the whole fun.

That is why I was never a fan of online games such as Tribal Wars or Grepolis...

I am sure Balthagor is doing everything he can and I do not mean to cause additional pressure. My advise would be though to Battlegoat to check performance issues prior to releasing games in the future.

I mean Supreme Ruler series, including Cold War, are based on a great idea and is the stuff I really like.
But if the fun is spoiled by performance issues such as caused by the destacking bug and as a player you get no cure or a long time, you may then consider not buying the company's next game.

One solution for performance might be that units of nations not being in war do not check their view ranges. That is couple of thousands units less to done calculations for. Exceptions woul'd only be recce and air recce units.

And what about nations not in war but fighting in a proxy?

It's not that simple but I'm sure BG will get there 8)

Turn turn fog of war off in the game options and spotting calcs isn't an issue. I prefer to model spotting, so I leave it on.
The option for you to turn them off is already there, if you feel spotting calcs cause too much of a slow down then play without them.

But that does raise a good point, why do most units need spotting on if they are not at war? It would be a clever way to increase performance (rather like unit caching in arma 2)
