Cuba and revolution

Post by pzkpfw »

I'm trying to play using Cuba and 1949 it's a dictatorship with Batista but at the same time it is aligned with URSS :-? I was waiting for rebels or some events but nothing happened. Now in 1961 my country is completely aligned with URSS and I'm still a dictatorship like at the beginning.. what happened to the Cuban Revolution? Is it in some way implemented in SRCW?

I just can tell you that in my game as Venezuela, I saw the event tkobo mentioned but fidel hasn't taken over cuba as of late 1959 (iirc, in the real world it happened on 12/31/57 or 1/1/58 ...Yes too lazy to google it up now :) )

I'm in '63 and Fidel is no where to be seen and there wasn't a cuban missile crisis |O

I can understand that the cuban missile crisis didn't happen as this would rely on choices that you make, however I reckon there should be an event that allows the player to steer things towards allowing the crisis to occur, such as Russia asking the Cuban player to place missiles in the country.
Much Thanks

Oh. Well I agree with your point on being able to steer events to that. I funded insurgencies in Cuba to overthrow Batista but to no avail.

Cuba really should be a proxy war possibility, and the missile crisis really should be in the game, even if only as a series of event choices.

That it should! Especially as the game is called SR: Cold War, and I think that pretty much everyone would agree that the Cuban missile crisis is THE iconic event of the cold war.

I got that event too. But like 4 months after the Missile Crisis was supposed to happen :/ And it popped up like 4 times at once. I hate that. It seems to do that to me.
