Before I purchase this version I would really like to know what the AI is like.
Could anyone please tell me if the AI is a lot better and doesn't do things like leave its Air-force sitting around doing nothing 90% of the time and can actually organise a proper amphibious attack.
thanks

the AI uses this extensively and it seems to work well for it(although it does have its limitations, it doesn't solve amphibous landing issues but it does allow the AI to field troops around the world much faster/more effectively). The Merchant Marine: When you are using the Merchant Marine, the unit will go
to an appropriate port and effectively transform into a naval unit. When it reaches
the destination port it will then turn back to a land unit. During the course of the
ocean transit this unit is essentially an unarmed cargo ship and could easily fall pray
to enemy attack unless escorted. As well, it must both load and unload only in a port
that is under allied control. There is essentially no limit to the movement of units via
the merchant marine.
haven't had a war against anyone with much of an airforce yet so i'll let someone else field that.
But in general i would say yes the AI is better than sr2020s.

Well... I just can tell you (so far) that it moves a lot! It is very active.

The AI is impressive when compared to 2020's. It's still no match for me, but I didn't really expect it to be.

I've spotted North Korea using its planes occasionally, though it only has like 5 air units. They don't last long though because they don't use them very well and frequently need repairs.

Its almost too active,i found my allies running out of oil constantly, yet their troops still wanted to shift about areas they fully controlled.

Agree... Military deployments seems too dynamic.... Perhaps the AI's BZ priorities change on a daily basis...

Re: Hows the AI?
Personally, it just feels scripted... might just be me though
The reason I say this, take the US AI for example, there ships and troops quite happily go along to historical locations (Korea/Vietnam) and there own territories and between (aka North Pacific), yet if they are at war with anyone outside of that, they simply ignore it
Example, in my current game they are at war with Liberia
Now, prior to this war, they station 1 Carrier (full of aircraft) and 2 destroyers in the Mediterranean, and another full carrier off the west coast of Morocco
However, they have completely ignored Liberia, made zero attempt or anything (I'm allied with them so I see or their movements), and they have a british and french colony either side, meaning they can land a force through merchants easily
I realize some wars will be scripted (Korean War kicked off on the date it occurred IRL) but surely I'm just imagining the rest
