Scenarios list
Hi all, finally I've got my copy of the SR2010. It's really sad there is nobody playing it's online, but well, the game is old probably people just went into something new.
Any way, my question is - are there any scenarios where u have to build up ur nation from the very beginning? like from 1960s or at least 1980s? I'm sorry if it's somewhere on visible place but I haven’t found any. Thx
p.s. I didn't find anything listed there - http://www.bgforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5787

There are no "backwards in time" scenarios, but playing the game as some of the weaker/poorer regions duplicates the building process you are describing. You just have to build your region up from 1960's technology while other regions already have the new stuff.

AFAIK, there is only one "user made" scenario; Microcosm
There are also 2 scenarios not included with the game that were made by me; New Bavaria and WWIV
The wikiis fairly up to date.

Not sure what you mean by "realistic".The situations in the game are all hypothetical, becuase the story lines are.
If you mean some historical wars, sadly i dont think many of the wars in real life lend themselves to the scale and system of sr2010 very well,if at all.
As regions on a given map will pick a side sooner or later, and all regions in a conflict need to exist on the same map,it pretty much limits what could be recreated.
Falkands doesnt work, as it would spiral into a world war.Iraq, the same.Iran vs iraq the same, as it would grow to a full regional war.
Middle east wars would be the best bet for a modder i think though. But theyed still likely grow beyond the real world version as the AI regions took sides.
If you want to experience more challange than the normal scenario or campaign, try some of the missions.

ok ok, may be not "realistic" but "historical from the past" )
I have never been fan of any "futuristic" games.
any way, I've played big map ( world ) and map was terribly lagging after 2 years from starting ( and I'm not saying that I had deleted ALL units in WORLD scenario in editor to start on absolutely empty map ). AI is incredibly dumb, this why creators made it more fighting game but not economical simulation ( right, Chris? lol ). So, as faster u start was as less noticed AI doesn't build up at all ( except military units ).
Concerning scenarios I can understand why there are only 3 scenarios for the past 2 years made! The editor is soooo confusing that I really have no patience even get in how to make 5 players and it's territory. I never said it's bad, I'm saying it's confusing.
But I still wish to take a look on it to make kinda 1985 scenario or so. Not sure I will succeed.
I also remember I found somebody was speaking about 32 or more players ( countries ) map, is it exists?

I made a user secenario for WWIII based on real world OB with a WM. It took about a month to create, and turned out to be total waste of time -- the AI would simply create flower defense of bases and build tons of engineers. The scenario had many more units than the stock WWIII scenario & the result was the computer got bogged down a lot quicker -- like after about three months of game time.
You will just have to take 2010 for what it is, and hope these issues get fixed in 2020.

Feltan
