Blank WWIII Scenario?

Post by Harkes2k »

Is there anyway to start any scenario with no structures whatsoever so you can build the country exactly how you want to?

There is no such map currently, although it could be made in the map editor. I'm not sure you could balance it however since your population require products immediatly. This is the world with today's population, it needs today's industries to work...

No, there is no way to do this, if you did, you would have no military, no industry, and no way to build anything anyway, and seeing as the AI dosen't build anything then the AI regions would remain 'blank'. And if you had it so only the player was 'blank' then you would be quickly overwhelmed.

Also this falls more under the title Civ builder, which is something that the devs are trying to avoid.

The only way to do this would be to use the editor, you could then delete and replace buildings as you liked. However how to do this is something I don't know...

(damn, you just beat me to there chris :-) )

You can always start out by building things where you want them, and destroying the stuff you don't want as you "replace" it. Just about everyone does at least a little of this (scrapping an agriculture or metal ore mine that has a crappy output etc. etc.). I don't see any reason you couldn't do this to a greater degree. Keep in mind that quite a bit of the industries are already at pretty prime locations.

If you are talking about total make-over...cities in different places and such... You would have to use the map editor to move everything around.

(Chris, does the map editor let you move cities?)

Yes, in the map tab of the editor, one of the edit popups contains 3 powerful but dangerous buttons;

Clear all units
Clear all upgrades
Clear all cities and transport

These wipe the map clean so be sure you've got backups before you start playing with these.

DO NOT touch the big red botton that says "clear all cities" if you do then pandoras box will be open for all eternity...
