Kigge, reminder that Sami will not be available today. Can you make a Monday, "makeup game"?

Re: SMALL weekely MP game.
Hmm, This is quite an interesting approach to an MP game, I might give it a shot if there's an opening next set.
I haven't played as a third world country very often, so it would be an interesting twist. I have, oddly enough, always liked fighting in the deserts and jungles of Africa, as that tends to be where my army reaches critical mass on it's world conquest. It'll be quite different playing as one of those countries that was under the roller.
Just wondering, what are you all doing in terms of Diplomacy? I heard mention of inter-player trades, but in particular, how do you, GI, plan on getting your forces to an island? Just air treaties? As I've never played as your country I don't know if their neighbors are fond of them or not.
Also, Its a bit much territory to cover, but Madagascar might be a good investment if I remember correctly, as I believe they have a fairly balanced set of resources?

Re: SMALL weekely MP game.
Diplomacy wise, we are not allowed to ally with any other nation, just us three.
We are not allowed to sell technology outside of our alliance.
Tanzania has coastal areas, and the only naval capability. Our current plan is for sami to invest in naval capacity, transports, warships etc. When the time comes for us to expand, I believe Kigge and I can move our land forces to Tanzania, embark upon his ships and sail to battle. (I know there was a bug at one time about loading troops in allied ships, I am hoping that was fixed, or only applies to ai)
I do have some Air Transit treaties in place for future use and may use them in the opening stages of any invasion. However, to get adequate follow on forces to the battle, naval ships will be needed. Aircraft transports are good for the initial assault allowing for airfield/harbor captures, but overall their small capacity makes them inefficient for sustained operations.
Angola and Botswana have a high probability of attacking me and they both have high justification. While neither shares a border with me, it is still a concern and I keep an eye on it. As of this post I would not be able to hold them if they attacked. That being typed, if Niger and/or Tanzania were able to intervene and send expeditionary forces there is a possibility the initial assault may be stopped. If Malawi could blunt that initial attack, then the odds of surviving increase dramatically since the ai will start tricking units in after that point.
Overall, I am very interested in how this is going to play out. I realize it is an extremely slow paced game and I wish to again thank Kigge and samilou for willing to tackle this style of play.
As for you being interested in this type of game, I am more than willing to start another, separate game, if you like. Feel free to PM me or discuss here.

Re: SMALL weekely MP game.
Sir, I refer you to the OP with date and proviso, as well as 4 or 6 posts back. If Kigge does not respond, best I can do is be online at the listed time in OP and hope for the best.
Warm regards,
Joe

I had no way to know you did edit such information into the OP, I expected a new post about it, that is what I always look for.GIJoe597 wrote:Sir, I refer you to the OP with date and proviso, as well as 4 or 6 posts back. There shouldn't be anything that will stop me from showing up this Saturday though.

Re: SMALL weekely MP game.
Original post updated. In the interest of fairness to the people that make an effort to show up week after week, we will assume after 2 missed weeks, with no contact, you forfeit your country.
If anyone can make the date/time and would like to be considered to take over one of the countries in game, if that is needed, please post here.

If somebody is quick to join us now on Gameranger, you could sub Niger, and even keep it if long-term if Kigge does not show up next session as well.

After waiting an hour past scheduled start time, it was a no go. Hopefully better luck next week.
