Malaysia for the win

Post by TorstenBarbaren »

So here it goes I am gonna get on the hall of fame and the region I´ll play will be Malaysia.

Some house rules I set for myself:

No alliance
All wars are do or die - there will be no accepting peace offers
No trading of tech
Not buying units - You can try to sell your old rusty heaps to some other third world country
No selling units - I rather scrap my obsolete units than facing them when I come to crush you

All difficulty but diplomatic set to very hard. Diplomatic set to hard.
Wolrd volatility High

I will also take a bit of another approach than most of my other games where I tend to bide my time preparing my armed forces, economy and tech waiting to be ambushed.

Malaysia is in one way an easy region - good economy with oil and goods income. Few other regions with land borders. And as well a good start level when it comes to tech 102. But very few units to choose from and few transports to start with. The armed forces are the following:

Operation world domination begins

True to my rules of the game defence minister Eva Chou launched an attack on Singapore a week into the game. "A city state, what is this ancient Greece?"

A few units were lost but the war was won within a week. China, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Phillipines declared war on me. The UN tossed me out, like we care!

With the victory I got a bunch of naval units, most important 3 La Fayette Frigates and 2 Land fabrication and 1 naval. After the war we also started building a third research center.

Minister of finance Chen Jainzhu was given the task of replacing the petroleum power plants with coal plants and to increase the output of goods. 3 supply depots were built and social spending was increased.

Most of the army was moved north to the borde with Thailand just in time for an invasion by the armed forces of Thailand. Our forces made a fast march on land but struggled in the waters, submarine warfare got me out of the pickle and in august the enmy navy is more or less non-excisting.

After we took the war to Thailand, Myanmar declared war and tried a daring amphibious attack, but lacking escort our Sea Kings sunk them before they could make landfall. Sri Lanka managed to sneak through our naval shield but luckily they only landed a mobile radar unit and an anti air that we dealt with swiftly. As of august 19th we have made a lot of progress

Secret memo to the president of october 3rd 2020

Mr President.

Our recon shows an imminent threat of an invasion from India. Indian forces are amassing just south of the Singapore strait. We can´t ignore the possibility of a joint indian - indonesian invasion, as of now we can no longer trust the indonesian diplomats. We urge You to order the ministry of defence to prepare the defense urgently. As well we advice that plans for offensive actions against Indonesia and India should be made and forces be deployed at Borneo.
Intelligence also show that Indonesia is under pressure from the US and NATO to cut all diplomatic ties with our capital.
Funds should be directed to the military intelligence and we suggest an academy to be built.

Mr President.

As of today we are at war with Vietnam. The declaration of war was delivered to our ambassador in Hanoi at 1100 hours. I suggest that our northern fleet is directed towards this new threat.

Logistical problems

As the invasion of Myanmar and Thailand continues we are starting to suffer from logistical problems to get supply to the northern front. A railway has ordered to be constructed to supply Tavoy in a first step, in the future it will be connected to Moulmein where supply depots are under construction.
To meet the demands of the NSA an airfield i under construction in northern Borneo.
Our forces in the north is harassed by the Thai airforce and we urge that research funds are redirected to modern antiair warfare. As well we urge an increase of units in the airforce.
The first Nanuchka II has been deployed from Singapore naval base.

According to our sources within the Army of Malaysia, General Najib has replace General Zhang as commander of the northern front following the failed and bloody assault on Myanmar capital Naypyidaw during the end of february. General Najib redirected the attack towards the city of Yangon and the military base south of said city. At 0500 hours of this morning Yangon base was captured by forces of the second division. Capturing Yangon cripples Myanmars ability to rebuild its armed forces.

The new backbone of the malaysian army

Indonesia refused to yield to our ultimatum and we are now at war. Sporadic fighting on Borneo. After an DoW from India we assaulted and captured the islands south of Singapore strait. Myanmar is no more. And for the first time playing SR2020 the AI tried to launch an amphibious assault on me with escort. China sent 6 transports escorted with a couple of destroyers and subs.

Our economy is booming so we have started to pay back our debt. After a struggle on Thailands northern border we pushed sout towards the capital at the same time we moved forces from our capital to pinch the Thai forces in and arround the capital. A njoint Bangladeshi and Indian attack on our north western border was halted in the last second. Just as we prepard to storm the Thai caputal with some 40 infantry units Camobdia DoW. Mostly obsolete units that were destroyed by our forces. We halted just north of the capital, taking will force the Vietnamese to act and our forces are not strong enough. The bloody battle for Krung Thep raged on for more than a week without cease fire and it cost us some 60 000 soldiers. But we prevailed and captured the Thai navy almost doubeling our naval forces.

We are struggeling at sea, the Indian navy is state of the art and are sinking our ships regualry.

Update

The Euro2012 has been stealing time from my world conquest but now we are back on track.
After Thailand. Cambodia and Laos fell fast. Our eastern front rolled up the vietnamese defence from the south and after heavy fighting arround Ho Chi Minh city we destroyed the land fabrication, there by destroying their source of reinforcements.
Bangladesh we defeated after we took Dhaka leaving the west of our country wide open for an indian invasion. Really bloody and heavy urban warfare raged on arround and in the city of Koklata. Millions of civilians were killed or injured as the indian was using LOTS of artillery.
We have now also launched an invasion in to southern China, pushing back all opposition.

We still have good economy, but we lack almost every thing since the population now closes in on 500 millions.

Japan, South Korea, Russia, Afghanistan among others have DoW. We declared war on the US to destroy theur economy. They are now hopelessly stuck in deep red.
