Im going to see,just what can and cant be achieved in game by a 80%+ force based on Helicopters.
I chose S.A. becuase its got a easy starting position, and with some work, a good economic one.

Its gonna be a wild game, as on jan 15th, 14 days into the game,massive wars have broken out and Luxemberg has already fallen to Germany.
The Swiss, of all people, have declared war on the France.I mention this, becuase well, it seems very unusual

I have no oil, a weak economy, and little to no air military.So i am rushing builds of 20 air fabs (to get started)and 70 oil facs.Financing is being generated by tech trading and high domestic pricing.

I wasnt kidding, its now jan 22nd and U.S. just made that joke about Canada being the 51rst state true.
Im am running about a $100 a day surplus, adn trying to watch what happens in the world.I have no allies and no satellites,so i dont get much of a view

I just took some time to really look, and it seems that in that VERY short time period,the U.S. had completely swarmed the candian border and pushed 20+ hexes in in some places,including in from Alaska.

What invasion ?

The U.S. reached as far Timmins in Canda with tanks, sometime around the 15th.Aside from that war though, the others all seem rather small scale still.No large pushes.

Switzerland is gonna loss its rep though , as its now declared war with gemany, and is actually even fighting.Germany must have passed some kind of banking restrictions

I bought a few well placed line of sight treaties, so i could have a good view

Its now the end of march, and the U.S. is pushing deep into Mexico.They seem to be only using tanks and aircraft.Must be over a dozen supply aircraft loitering in the battles areas.

Thought id put a screen up of the air support supply wise at one location.


Heres what appears to be a funny one.Took me a while figure it ot, and in still not sure,BUT it looks like all those aircraft are trying to supply those 2 helis

Now april, and im firmly in the oil bussiness,making over $1b a day income from it at the moment.

Ive now traded for and started building my heli force.I bought the Comanche tech and now have circa 20 being built at a time.I have started buildng another 15 air fabs also.

May 7th, Israel falls to Syria and Eygpt.

The only peaceful area on the map at this time appears to be South America. Whoops, i have to take that back, seems a few of them are at war also.I just forgot to get a line of sight treaty in the area.

The AI wars in Europe are deffinately more interesting and active now.France is at war with evry neighbor but spain, germany is at war with every neighbor.France has been invaded by even England, and has lost over 1/3 of its land at this point.It and Germany are also in debt up to thier necks, with a growing negative treasury.

Mid July now,and North Korea just fell.

Hmmmm... something odd may be happening with Spain,it turns out it IS at war with France and Germany, but it seems unwilling to enter french territory for some reason, even the naval ships just dance around in france's first ocean border hex.

Spain finally advanced in France, some 34+ hexes into france.They are about to reach the channel.France should collaspe any day now.

The Spanish advance looked to be again mostly tanks.Spain has a bunch of supply trucks following its tanks.

The area around Paris is now one huge battlefield.Spain,U.K.,Belgium, and Italy all have units trying to slug their way to frances capital.Any air response soon grows into a large air melee, with air units from all the regions mentioned joining in.

Its quite fun to watch.

It took about 4 large air battles, before France stopped sending air units up.

Just spotted what looks like spanish supply trucks, suppling british tanks.

Germany is now being pressed hard on all its borders and is now finally starting to lose ground.

Parts os Paris have fallen to Spain, though to be fair it was a very combined effort units wise.they simply got the credit and the city hexes.

December 18th France falls, Paris area looks like a U.N. meeting for armed forces.

My region , South Africa is humming along nicely.

Germany up til now, has held up very well considering how outnumbered they are, and how many regions theyve been fighting.But now they might finally start to lose large portions of ground as they just lost the Augustdorf military base and land fabs centers.

This military hex is extremely close to alot of germanies oil production and right on top of the city hexes that make up germanies west border.And the AI works acceptably well, when working directly from a military base.

Im now at a point in which i can easily go to war with my african neighbors.Im not sure under what rules i should opperate though.

my thoughts on it are :
1) Only helicopters should be allowed to seek out and engage enemy ground units.
2)while i can use air planes, they should only be allowed to attack other air units and facilities(any facility ,not just air ones)


This leaves me with a few questions:
1) how to deal with anti air ground units, which are likely to slaughter the helicopters.
? possibility 1:im thinking allow the attack of said ground anti-air with missiles.id do this with almost every other case.
2) how to deal with garrisons, which i dont even know if helicopters will cause to go active.

3) how to actually take possession of hexes.
? possibility 1 :allow ground units to advance only for the sake of taking hexes,they are not to be used to seek out and fight ground units.Im thinking only to allow myself airborne assualt ,dropping ground units right by or on the hex.
4)I have on ally on the map, and alot of africa is starting to declare war on it, so i have a few places i have 40% or better belli against.Is it time to go to war ?Even though id rathe rhold off a bit ?

Feel free to put up some suggestions on these.

Im going to save, and think this over some before continuing.

I think in going to do a starter war, to see how this plays out.hopefully that will help memake my decisions.

One thing i just found out, that will be an issue ,is that air unts have no "move in formation".

The order doesnt work for them , and instead the pointer is used to calculate distance to be traveled to a target hex.

I think move in formation would be VERY useful for helicopters.
