Natural resources in surrounded territory.

I have a question. More of a clarification and refreshment of my memory actually.

I am playing the South Asia Scenario as Japan. I have allied with Vietnam. I have modernized and upgraded my entire military, and am currently building a sizable task force in Northwest Vietnam. My goal is to head Northwest once hostilities break out, and take China's oil fields from them. I am still finishing the process of reducing my own dependance on the stuff as much as possible, and synthetics plants will be coming online soon, so I'm not absolutely dying for oil. It would be nice to have access to it though.

Am I remembering correctly that even an enclave totally surrounded by enemy territory can still supply natural resources to the entire region you command?

( I wager the Chinese might cut my forces off from Vietnam, as I'll be looking to conquer and use independent supply sources as I move deeper into China)

Yes, so long as the pocket has it's own supply.

thank you Chris.

I'll be contemplating an AAR on this, I'd want to do some research before posting it though.
