cd key doesn't work...

Hi,
I've bought the PC CD-ROM version of the game.

I installed it but it wanted an activation code so I went onto the website and logged in and got one.
Now this worked when getting through that bit but then when the game loads, it asks for the cd key on the start screen and it doesn't work...help?
