UAV's not returning to base to refuel
My UAV's have been crashing when I have them set patrolling an area, even though they are not too far from a few air fields.
I have built 4x RQ-4A Euro Hawk and 4x RQ-4A Global Hawk UAV's and all but 1 of them has crashed when on patrol so far.
Anyone else have this happen?

No, i havent encountered this, but i havent used those 2 UAVs either,so it might be something with them.I had thousands of UAVs in my last aar gaem on patrol, and ddint lose a single one .
Do you perchance have those pesky air refueling units in the air someplace not far from them ?

No, no air refuelling units nearby, just the units in the pic.
I had it patrolling a similar route to the fighter in the pic, so pretty close to 3 air fields, and at the time wasn't at war with any one to shoot it down.
Have never really used UAV's much before, but noticed that these 2 had decent 200km+ spotting range, so thought i'd try them out.

Re: UAV's not returning to base to refuel
Just ran two fast tests, a save game, and a new game,in both tests the RQ-4A Global Hawk returned to an airfiled to refuel as needed during their patrol.
Did you at some point turn off your airfields for a time ?

Oh, they do go back to air fields, but at some point they must 'forget' they need refuelling.
The global hawk shows 0 for fuel capacity, so I assumed it must be an error, that's why I built the other version which has 48 fuel capacity, but they crashed too.
I have my last uav up patrolling now to see if it crashes too, and no I didn't deactivate any air fields.

Mine shows as 48 fuel capacity, and the one test is still running, all 4 auvs still patrolling. Are you sure your not confusing supply, which would be zero, with fuel ?

No it's defiantly fuel capacity, this is a pic what shows in my game.
Is yours from a game started after the newest update? Maybe it's changed.

Thats looks like a bug/entry error. The US version,RQ-4A Global Hawk shows as 48,i didnt look at the EU version.Does your US version show as zero also ?

Did a fast look at the EU version, and its wrong on mine also.So you found a bug/ data entry error for that unit.Which explains why its crashing. It however doesnt explain why the US version was crashing for you.....

Re: UAV's not returning to base to refuel
Have just been thinking, I had some military goods shortages when the prices went up. But wouldn't they just land until fuel was available?
Oops fuel doesn't come from military goods anyway.

Yes, and military goods wouldnt affect their fuel anyway. And if you had a fuel shortage, they should have simply landed and stayed landed,at their next refuel stop.If they were for some reason taking off without fuel though, that would explain it also.

Did a fast test, when no fuel was available they stayed landed like they should.

Re: UAV's not returning to base to refuel
Have been looking in the default.unit file and that Euro Hawk does have a fuel capacity, it's just so low it gets rounded down to 0 in game.
My last uav is still flying after several months so not sure why the other 7 have crashed.
