Our usual criteria; Can you sail a Submarine and Aircraft Carrier up that in real life?

If you are talking about the Suez and Panama Canals, then you will have to delete them change most of the St. Lawrence River from Sault Ste. Marie to Quebec City to "river Narrows" because the beam and draught of U.S. super carriers are to great to use them. They currently have to sail arrount the Cape of Good Hope or through the Strait of Magellan. However, modern destroyers, cruisers, the Iowa class battleships and the carriers of Brazil, Britian, France, India and Russia can. So where is the Kiel Canal? Modern cruise ships and the Deutschesmarie routinely traverse it as well as the Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Bismarck and Tirpitz on the shack down cruises in the Baltic durring WWII.

Greetings gentlemen

I have found some errors regarding SPAIN:

CITY NAMES
-Vilafranca del Penedes-> (should be) Vilafranca del Penedès
-Vilanova i la Geltru-> Vilanova i la Geltrú
-Baracaldo-> Barakaldo (Baracaldo is in Cuba & Guinea)
-Santa Maria Garona-> Santa María de Garoña
-Logrono-> Logroño
-Pamplona-Iruna-> Pamplona (Iruna means "Pamplona" in basque, Pamplona is spanish)
-Irun-> Irún
-San-Sebastián-> San Sebastián
-Eibar-> Éibar
-Gexto-> Getxo
-Vilagarcia de Arousa-> Vilagarcía de Arousa
-Artexio-> Arteixo
-Vandellos-> Vandellòs
-Ciudedela de Menorca-> Ciutadella de Menorca (Although it's catalan, it's the official name of the town and everybody in Spain calls it that way)
-Eivissa-> Ibiza (Reverse of the anterior, Eivissa is only for Mallorcan people)

OTHERS
-"Puerto del Rosario" (on the Canary Islands) should have an airport.
-"Arrecife" (on the Canary Islands too) should have an airport too, and its population augmented to 52.944 (http://population.mongabay.com/populati ... 0/arrecife).
-There is a huge industrial zone in western Barcelona called Zona Franca, between "Barcelona" and "Vilanova i la Geltrú" which is not implemented in tha game, I think it should be added because it's the industrial heart of eastern Spain.
-Also, between "Vilafranca del Penedès" and "Barcelona", there is a town called "Martorell", which servers as SEAT's car company headquarters. Surrounded by industries, Martorell's industrial zone is Spain's biggest industrial complex (SEAT) and one of Europe's biggest (http://www.mcrallyes.com/wp-content/upl ... l-seat.jpg), I think there should be some industrial hex around.

Regards!

Here are some name errors I found:

in Bosnia: SARJEVO should be SARAJEVO. Can't believe noone noticed that one. :lol:
TREINJE should be TREBINJE.
in Montenegro: NIKSI should be NIKSIC (actually it's NIKŠIĆ but you don't support that character). And trust me, if your source is saying it's NIKSI, it's either dead wrong or simply doesn't know what to do with unknown 'ć' character so it omitted the whole char. NIKSIC is closest to it's true name without those characters.
in Slovenia: KOPERR should be KOPER, with 1 R at the end. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koper

Not sure if this is the best place to put it, but...

Hamburg should have an aircraft fabrication to represent Airbus. Toulouse ought to have one too (think it does, though).

In case this list is still a work in progress: capital of Guinea is Conakry, not Conarky.

Thanks,

In canada theres a town called Glace Bay. Where im from! :-) Anyway, The population of Glace Bay is right. But theres a place next to it called Cape Breton. Thats the name of the entire island its on. On the entire island theres 147,454 as of 2001. Including Glace bay.

http://www.jacqueswhitford.com/site-jw/ ... cb_map.jpg

Sydney is the only city in cape breton. The rest of the places are small towns.
Glace Bay and Sydney are now one city forming the CBRM (Cape Breton Regional Municipality).
CBRM includes areas like New Waterford and Dominion.

http://www.gov.ns.ca/snsmr/muns/info/ma ... breton.gif

Area in Yellow is the city CBRM and its area ran buy the CBRM!

Sorry for the little lecture. Just thought you should know! :lol:

So ya the error is that island and the two cities there.

Name fixes done to this point with some exceptions;

* Baracaldo - spelled that way in our source
* Santa Maria Garona - too long with "de", fixed the accents
* Ciudedela de Menorca - our source says Ciudedela
* Eivissa - when I set our source to show "España" (local names) I get "Eivissa". When I set it to show "Spain" (Default names) I get Ibiza. Sticking with our source for consistency.
* Niksi - NIKŠI in our source.
* SÃO LUÍZ - is "LUÍS" in our source

Other map changes noted for further review. Changed every occurrence of "SAO " to "SÃO ". Cape Breton renamed to Sydney, left Glace Bay to make it a "sprawling" city.

There shouldn't be any Military complex at Bremerhaven hex (x:863, y:135), there should be Naval fab at both Willhelmshaven and Flensburg. There is also an Industrial complex at Krefeld (hes x:856, y:146) that is in the middle of the Rhein river that you can't add any improvements to.

Hi. New to the forums. Great game and I'm already addicted.

Just a few things. I play as Northern Ireland (my home) and I've noticed two wee things:

1) Balleymena should be Ballymena

2) Belfast is world famous for ship building - it built the Titanic after all - and has the largest dry dock in the world - it should really have a naval fabrication.

Aside from that - great game.

Thanks!
