Could someone knowledgeable please confirm this for me so I know I`m not screwing something up? I`ve discovered that there is a proper icon for the MIG-21 in UGBITS2.png which is used by the MIG-19 units:


But in DEFAULT.PICNUMS I see that the 481 entry is actually referring to another model number(if I read this correctly):

I also can`t find a 481 X file in Graphics\Meshes. Does this mean that while there is an icon for this unit, there is no model associated with it?

Thank you! Then I`ll have to wonder how(and why) they`ve managed to make an icon without the model. Do you happen to know if there are proper MIG-21 and F-16 in SRCW?

Yes there are proper models for Mig 21 and F-16 in SRCW (as many others have too)

Thanks for the reply! Just to make sure: by "proper" I didn`t mean that the used model is a well done generic model, but that it is a representation of the actual F-16(or MIG-21).

Awesome! I was going to wait for the game to reach a more Gold(ish) state before buying it, but if they`ve went to the trouble to make stuff like this I`ll buy it now. Thank you for the picture!

lol True. Btw, am I right to assume that the CW units are done in the same gfx format as the ones from SR2020 and could be used in it too?

Generally the models probably have a higher poly count. Not sure if they could be back ported. But TBH.. once they clear up a few issues there really would be no reason to go back to 2020.

The timeframe. I realize CW has considerable improvements both for gameplay and graphics, but it deals with a period I`m not found of. And modding CW into a SR2020 I presume would be alot of work. Personally I wish they`ll eventually do a SR that starts in the same year of its release and not more than a decade afterwords or a few decades in the past. I`d like to play the contemporary world more.

I've ported both GC and shattered world as well as have a custom Modern world mod.
(and yes it was and continues to involve a significant amount of work)

I'm not fond of the cold war era either and told BG if they made it I would be forced to spend a significant time modding, which I have.
