Modern Day Campaign

What is the world like in 2020? What are the different ways to play? How can I create my own futuristic scenario and country groupings?

Modern Day Campaign

Post by Hullu Hevonen »

Hi,

This is the topic of the Modern Day Mod featuring 1 capaign, 3 scenarios in single and 4 multiplayer campaign(both the same). I started planning the mod from late December/early November 2009, but started working on it later. I originally planned it to have been ready until new Year as a surprise :-) . The mod is for the Global Crisis Expansion only and I do not guarantee that it will work on the vanilla game(supreme ruler 2020). I would also appreciate your feedback, help in correcting world leaders, relations, regions etc.. :-)
The Modern day campaign is not designed to be an all out ww3 mod at the beginning of the game as eg. other mods might be, you can adjust the "reality" whit the hot relations. Having the hottest relations gives you a more early conflict filled beginning while the lowest hot relations gives you the opposite effects.

Install instructions and possible backup
backup:
You should also backup files that you have moded that may be overridden(not intentionally), but if you do not have a moded game, then the only files that would be overridden would be the \Supreme Ruler 2020\Localize\LOCALEN\Variables.INI and \Supreme Ruler 2020\Localize\LOCALEN\LocalText-TTR.csv files. If this seems too complicated, then copy all of your supreme ruler 2020 file to a new location and install the mod in the original directory. If then anything goes wrong or you do not wan't the mod you can copy back the supreme ruler 2020 and have your pre-mod installation game back. 8)

Installation:
1. Extract to your local Supreme Ruler 2020 folder eg. C:\program\Paradox Interactive\Supreme Ruler 2020
2. launch the game and play :-)

Installation with the Installer: (NOTE: if you have installed a previous version of the installer you might wan't to uninstall that one first, controlpanel/add and remove software)
1. Download the Installer version of the mod
2. launch the Installer
3. Click next
4. enter the location eg. C:\program\Paradox Interactive\Supreme Ruler 2020 and
5. click Install
6. launch the game and play

This mod is free, can be used it what way suits the user, can be distributed to whom ever/where ever etc... but, the only thing I would ask is that if you use any material from this mod in another mod, you would credit or mention this mod or the author :-)

Great mod by what I have seen so far.

One issue I have found was that the tech, Minimally Invasive Surgery costs $950,000 Million rather than the original $950 Million.

And I don't agree with the wars at the start. That part of Kashmir is under Indian control and the Chad-Sudan Conflict is over.
The leaders of Sudan and Chad signed an agreement in Saudi Arabia on 3 May 2007 to stop fighting from the Darfur conflict along their countries' 1,000-kilometre (600 mi) border.
Also, the "Commandoes" unit takes very long to research and build.

from your picture hellu, a lancaster bomber had a range of circa 2000 miles after the revised Rolls Royce engines were installed. Maybe 20,000+km is a wee bit much, especially since its tech lv 42 :p

Good update and most of the problems are fixed, but the breakaway regions from Georgia are still not playable. I can't find the problem though, they are included in the RegionIncl file.

I do like the new units you added to countries like in Africa.

EDIT: Found the problem. In the CVP file, the nonplayable value has to be changed to False.

Thanks, I fixed it, It will be in the next update :-)
EDIT: I am going to wait with another update to atleast next week, so that I can gather more "bug reports", fix bugs and further advance the game. currently I am playing around whit files in the INI folder. Hoping in making the AI fight more realistically(a bit more agresive and better use of different units. also hopefully give the AI ability to better scrap units) :-)
