Version 5.08 Is now availible via steam. More units and techs, and some minor balances changes on some units and "spheres". Right now it is only availible via steam. I will evenualy get around to making a direct download of the mod here. Most notible units that where added where high air attack ground based AA. and high air interceptors Coupled with new tech to research for these units. A new destroyer techline focues more on AA, and a new line of airtransports based off the osprey and future versions of the osprey. Many of these new units are region specific, but many are availible to the 3rd world countries too.

I dont have a self installer. And some dont like self installers as they can be risky, who knows what people are trying to install on your computer. Instead my mod is a single Zip file. So to install the mod you need to:
1: Download it
2: Unzip it
3: Move the files and folders to the correct positions in your game file

Inside the unziped folder will be 5 files and 1 folder. These are the locations they should be:
MODS , This folder should be located inside your supreme Ruler folder. The same folder that your .exe is in.
AIParams.csv , This file should go inside the \INI folder. There is already a file in there with the same name. My file will overwrite the old one. I suggest you back up the old one before you install this one. As my file will be active for every scenario not just my own. However you may choose to use mine for all as it will improve other scenarios. This is a key file so make sure you include it.
LOCALTEXT.csv should go inside the \Localize\Localen folder (its ok to overwrite the old files without saving them, As the ID#'s I used where unused ones so it will not affect other Scenarios)
LocalText-TTR.csv should go inside the \Localize\Localen folder (its ok to overwrite the old files without saving them, As the ID#'s I used where unused ones so it will not affect other Scenarios)

As for a changelog. I am horrible at those. I always tell myself I should make one when I am doing changes. But then I swear I get ADD, and when I am browsing the files I'll notice somthing and think hey I should change that. So then I make that small change, and 2 years later I never remmeber I even did it. Basicaly I cant tell you what the change log is becouse I cannot remember what I changed. This project has been a couple years in the making, countless hours. Hundreds of them. And I have a horrible memory. But I do remember some of the changes.

Also I should mention my mod plays slower then the standard version of the game. This is becouse the AI is doing more. I built this mod for me. I wanted a better AI. I play very long games. months long, so speed is not as much of an issue to me as AI inaction. If you want a faster game. Go develop a 64bit game engine.

AI Changes:
Adjusted AI, it will call different units, units that I feel they should call to in different situations. This will cause the AI to use more of its units rather then having them sit around doing nothing. By doing this I also had to change what they decide to build, one of which is more transport planes and ships. The AI looses allot of these. but it needs these units to perform amphib, and airborne assualts, along with supply its out of supply units. You will really be able to notice a difference with the changes I have made here. BG has even incorperated some of the changes in there last patch. More AI changes are listed in the relation section. Also some navl missles have had a small hard attack added to them. This serves one purpose reguarding the AI. In 15 years of game time. every missle carring unit the AI has will no longer get full of nothing but antiship missles making them unable to fight land wars becouse of it.

Map changes:
Added a new map feature called ferries. These are basicaly invisable bridges. They are placed at certain locations around the map that the AI was having problems with. I also added supply depots at area's around the map, this will also help the AI in certain locations around the map. Research facilities where also added, becouse of the increased amount of tech there is, there is more to research, so countries require more research facilities. I also added some other stuff such as barracks, airfields, sea piers military complexes where players have sugested. Also created the Chunnel. But over all, the player will probly notice the AI not geting its units stuck out in nowheresville as much anymore.

Treaty changes:
I have enabled some of the other treaties that BG had disabled. while they dont have a true effect on the game, They will add to relations. and I am asuming with the new 3rd party relations effects now in, they should also add to the gameplay of roleplayers. Mutual defense is bundled in with the alliance treaty. This will help countries in choosing sides of wars, I should have acualy changed the name of mutual defense, to looking out for each others interest. Of course maybe its how it works in RL.

Relations changes:
Tons of stuff done here to many to list. and you will see what they are ingame. There is sort of a story that happens. And I cannot wait to read them in the AAR section.

Unit changes:
All ground except AA have had there AA attack severly lowered.AA attack on dedicated ground AA has been increased. This should cause them to no longer act as an air defense network, that is what AA units are for. Tanks have had there hard attack and hard defenses increased. This should make tanks more useful on the map. Missles have had there defenses greatly increased, This should cause them to not get shot down by garrison stacks as much. Core structures have had there defenses increased. This will cause the outside stuctures to be destroyed way before the center one is. And with the new changes of outside ones pop when the center gets destroyed will make this one very likable. However I also made a change that many will not like. I increased the build times on structures. while many will not like this change i feel it makes the game more complete. If you want the Nuclear reactor built, no longer are you going todo it in 3 months. its going to take 2 years like it should. The added time does not only represent build time, but also the time it takes to plan and gather the resources to build it. Enginiers can always be used to speed this time up. This change will also make it so you have to plan ahead, and give a more equal footing with the AI and player. Uranium production and price was increased. there was huge shortages of Uranium so the changes I made are to offset this. Even still if somone does not start pumping out some uranium mines the price will sky rocket (Canada likes the price high). Plus almost 900 new units have been added bringing the top end tech line up to TL 200. Also becouse stuff like baracks and airfields are special structures, some new variations are also implace. IE Temp buildings. These buildings are quick to build. However they are very weak, and exspensive to maintain. They are intended for use in places where you quickly need to setup a beachhead. Basicaly so you can get that forward airbase or barracks setup to send those units into reserve for repairs. instead of shiping them back home for repairs. However I sugest once you get a real forward position setup you deconstruct these back bases. Many Cruisers have had the area affect (bombard) removed, this is so they can attack in UN waters. To offset this more battleships have been added. with more of a bombard effect. so you can still get that effect if that is what you are looking for.

Other Changes:
I have forgotten all I have done in this mod. I have been working on it what the last 2 years? So there might be some stuff that I am forgeting to mention here.

Tech Changes:
300 new techs have been added. bringing the top end of the tech line up to TL 200. Your probly not going to get to the endgame stuff in a typical game. Also changed where a few nuke techs prereqs.

Starting a new thread for my mod. Since the old one is more of a technical thread, and this one will be the release info thread. This top post will contain the most current version of the mod.

Ruges Mod 1.2 Beta is the current version. This version is only a Beta since I have not had time to go threw and make sure everything is balanced properly. But could probly also use some feed back from others on this aspect of it all. Will post all the final changes at a later time. There is a note pad that tells you where to place the file. All you have todo is save it, Unzip it and place the two files in the correct folders. These changes will only affect new games started from Ruges Global Crisis campaign. I have not included the .Unit folders with the mod as I dont think they will be needed to play.

In the next week I will probly get the balancing issues of the current build units done. and I want to add in some new techs for these units. This build mainly focus's on US military units, However Europe, Japan, Isreal, South Korea, and UK also share a few of the units. The current build brings units all the way up to tech 181. It also includes Crisis corected .units file (all GC missle fix and a CV fix)

I just tried to start a game with your mod, very hard difficulty all across, depleted resources etc.

To my surprise it was harder tan expected for everyone since tere were no production structures anywhere, no power, no mine, no factories, noone has any:)

Fixed. Only issues I have with it right now is I still need to get balancing done. and Stealth is still fubar till I go and either get the command list from chris, Or cache a game with ever possible outcome and see the changes myself. 1.25 also included a list of units that where added. and a list of units that where changed (garrisions, Missle fabs, and advanced radar where the only ones changed)

The top part are the new units and tech level you get them at. And as you can see allot of those are missles. Then there are a bunch new planes. and a couple ships. I just basicaly added some new units where it felt short in the game. And these are mainly for the US, however there are a couple other countries that can use some of them too.

Also the Garrisions, where changed too. Attack was extreamly lowered (could not change build days). Defense was cut in some fields while increased in others. You can look the stats up when a garrisions gets deployed in the world. Advanced radar stations had spoting range increased. And missle fabs where changed from 1 missle per fab to 10 missles per fab. This change also includeds Baths updated unit file.

The top part are the new units and tech level you get them at. And as you can see allot of those are missles. Then there are a bunch new planes. and a couple ships. I just basicaly added some new units where it felt short in the game. And these are mainly for the US, however there are a couple other countries that can use some of them too.

Also the Garrisions, where changed too. Attack was extreamly lowered (could not change build days). Defense was cut in some fields while increased in others. You can look the stats up when a garrisions gets deployed in the world. Advanced radar stations had spoting range increased. And missle fabs where changed from 1 missle per fab to 10 missles per fab. This change also includeds Baths updated unit file.

Chris just informed me of the new stealth ratings info last night So the mod is needed to fix that with the new units. I am currently working on some new techs for the requirements for those new units. I am also adding some new radar stations and new spotting values to this too. I think I have figured out how to add in sonar buoys too. Need to compile it to confirm the changes work. But still have some more stuff todo. Will probly have somthing more playable tomorrow night.

Generly like a buoy. I have also considered adding in a new Oceanic Military Complex. That would house all people and a helo pad that has the ability for helo's to land on it. Then the Sonar would be just be a small icon attached to it. Although I am probly not going todo any meshes till I finish all the gamplay stuff. Eye candy can come later.

A Oceanic Military Complex is a good idea I think especially if you will limit naval factories to it as well, it will be interesting but AI will probably never use it.

As for Helipad, how do you propose to stop pl from using it for VTOL aircraft? like Harriers or F-35 B?

As for sonar Buoys range appears to be a bit too low or is it me? I am probably wrong but RL Sonar Buoy's are able to pick stuff up from 100 Nautical miles away. Or it might be too many movies and Hollywood.

Did you get your stealth ratings sorted yet? can I download and start a game?

Yea, I have them all sorted, but I have not released it. I compiled a portion today, and had a few tech requirments fubared, so had to go in and fix that, Which I did, then wanted to add a few more things in like ocean fisheries. And some air dropable mecs. Then some RL issues came up so I need to attend to them first. I hope I can get a releasable thing done late tonight/early in the morn.
