Ruges GC Mod (5.08(11-2-13))

What is the world like in 2020? What are the different ways to play? How can I create my own futuristic scenario and country groupings?

I looked at the US, but it only has 20 techs that are pre researched. When you look ingame it has 130 techs already researched

prereqs of techs or units they've been given are automatically pulled in.

Uhmmm more likely that it pulls it out of the grouped list.

All the individual states have techs too, they are added to the US region when it's created.

If you mean that groups get the techs of their member regions, you are correct about that as well.

Ok So as long as I put the tech ID number under: &&REGIONTECHS 2999 That region will know the tech at the begining of the game. Ok think I have it now. I dont know allot about the education systems of other countries. So Hullu if you want this school stuff in you need to let me know which countries already know this tech or would know this tech in 2020.

// Mandatory Preschool 85
// Mandatory Grade School 90
// Mandatory High School 98
// Mandatory College 102
// Mandatory Specialized Training 108
// Compulsory Preschool 91
// Compulsory Grade School 99
// Compulsory High School 103
// Compulsory College 109
// Compulsory Specialized Training 117
// Scientific Research Training 122
// Advanced Scientific Research Training 138
// Government Funded Preschool 65
// Government Funded Grade School 70
// Government Funded High School 78
// Government Funded College 82
// Government Funded Specialized Training 88

So either you can put the region ID or the countries name next to the tech name and I will add the Tech ID number to the countries CVS.

The nations that i mentioned should have since they have in real life these "techs" about other nations. eg. in other countries schools cost and schools are not compulsory or mandatory.

Yea, so far I would agree with you on what countries should have the techs. But still what about other countries? The US should have government funded Grade-High school. What about Canada? whats thier policy, Mexico, western europe, Africa, South and Central American, Asia....??? I am sure some of those countries should have that tech already too, but which ones?

Albania- Mandate for any one betwen 12 and 40 to atend schools to learn to read/write //Mandatory Grade School
Algeria- officially compulsory for children between the ages of 6 and 15 //Compulsory Pre-school
Angola- education in Angola is compulsory and free for 8 years //Compulsory Grade School
Argentina- School attendance is compulsory between the ages of 5 and 17 //Compulsory Grade School
Austria- Responsibility for educational oversight in Austria is entrusted partly to the Austrian states (Bundesländer), and partly to the federal government, School attendance is compulsory for nine years //Compulsory Grade School, Government Funded Grade School
Here is every nation on A that has any onf the School Techs that i could find

Belgium, Education is compulsory from six to eighteen for Belgians //Compulsory Grade School
Botswana, The Government of Botswana hopes that by investing a large part of national income in education, the country will become less dependent on diamonds for its economic survival, and less dependent on expatriates for its skilled workers. //Government Funded Grade School, Government Funded High School, Government Funded College.
Brazil, Federal Government, States, Federal District, and Municipalities will manage and organize their respective education systems //Government Funded Grade School

ONGOING....

As far as compulsory goes, I dont think that is going tobe a preknown tech for anyone. I had envisioned compulosory as sort of an advanced learning, Kinda like what stero typical of Asian culture. I even thought of adding in a description for that tech as sort of the government adds in chemicals to the drinking water to make the populous attend schools more.

Also for the other techs it goes each grade has the prereq of the previous grade. (although might remove preschool as the prereq for grade). And then each catigory has the prereq of the previous catigory, It goes like this. Government Funded=Manditory=Compulsory.

So a compulsory College would have a prereq of Mandatory College, and Compulsory High School. With Madatory college having a prereq of Mandatory High School and Government funded College............
