Selling / Buying units to other regions?

With more regions available at once, who will you trade with? Who will you ignore? Will you trade for products, technologies, military designs or treaties? How much will you trade with your future enemies?

That's not an excuse, it's a fact. This is not moving forward because we do not have the precise rules for how this is to be implemented. All rule sets suggested so far included rules that at least one team member has deemed unacceptable, usually a rule surrounding delivery of the units.

seems the delivery issue is a big one. From a gameplay perspective id like to see it restricted to allies. i think a 3 month delay and a charge for delivery and connecting borders and either the buyer or selling party to provide transport. And only if a direct connection exists ie in terms of access across oceans and territory.

The other option is perhaps in 2020 with the UN altered like offering unit designs it could offer units which would then have to perhaps be reassembled and again a 3-4 month dleay and a small fee

On the positive side, there is a real oppurtunity here .

If they manage to get the time to implement a really fleshed out system for this, it would add alot to the game.

New diplomatic tools...
New belli generators..
New source of income...
etc....

Example:
Region A is under attack from Region B, region A arranges for a purchase of tanks and art from Region C,region B sees this and tells region C NOT to make the sale
Region C basically says to heck with you, we're going to make a killing here in profits.Though they say it more diplomatically "We feel that we are justified in selling region A this "defensive" equipment in order to promote peace and economic stability" :P

Region B says "Well ,that just moved you up on or belli list","We now consider any transport of your nation going to the war zone to be carrying illegal aid to the foe, and will treat it as such"

And the war now has another logical reason and risk of growing...

to buy units...

-new diblomatictool(s)!?
-choose units to by and negotiate price
-choose transit type: land, water or air
-choose loading and unloading points/bases

=for landtransit loading: base with landfab. unload in any own barracks. have to be connect with rails
=for watertransit loading: base with navalfab. unload in any own harbor
=for airtransit loading: base with airfab. unload in any own airfield

-as in real life units will be transported by some neutral/civilian company.
-transitprice = unit weight x transit type x distance
-when deal is done civilian/neutral transport unit(s) starts to build in choosed base. building time = 1 day = time to load units
-when building/loading is done this civilian/neutral unit start to move toward its destination. neutral unit can move through any territory.
-in destination unit unloads it cargo = 1 day = transport unit scrab itself

-while in move this neutral unit can be attacked (new unit command button: attack civilian/neutral unit ON/OFF)
-if u attack and/or destroy neutral unit --> sanctions from UN etc.

sorry about misspelling..

What if the UN was the exclusive arms supplier in the world? Buy low from players and others and sell at normal prices to world nations? It would have the same effect as military advisors, they'd arrive in your capitol or designated base in your original territory, and you would not have the opportunity to buy them back. It might also keep the UN in the green ;D

random offers from the UN might be an inital first step perhaps design a global marketplace or just keep the offers random ( within possibly youre current tech level)

My two cents.

The receiving country can receive heavy equipment if it has an active sea port.
Most things come by container ship.

Look at the mess the US has trying to resupply Afghanistan.
You need a land treaty (transit) with your neighbor if you got no access to the sea.

You can create a convoy icon or a freight train that would keep track of the actual delivery.
Just like moving your own units on the map.

You can go pick them up if you got the ships or pay extra to have the supplier bring them to you.

Arm dealers often include the delivery. Specially those that are not quite legal since they could be intercepted. In which case the buyer may lose confidence on the seller.
Payment 50% on purchase and rest on delivery.

The icon representing the shipment will appear at the production factory of the seller and you can command it as a regular unit giving it movement commands.

Auto ship will move it to a pre determined port where it will be shipped to the buyer or picked up by the buyer if controls own cargo ship.

Maybe the buying and selling units will be helped by this suggestion.
