Try to give away units only causes counter offer

I'm South Korea trying to give units to India(I've tried several others) and each time I try to trade units with nothing asked in return I get a counter-offer for 99mil and nothing \offered to me. If i do the same trade but ask for money the offer is rejected.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Seems bugged.

I patched GC before I played it the first time and I've not had a single problem giving units away to allies. They always take gifts from me, but then, they're allies. Are you trying to give things away to allies or to non-allies? Is their diplomacy bar with you full or empty?

No, there was a bug when GC came out that would not allow you to trade newly built units properly. It was fixed with a hot fix.

if u have bad standings with them they also ask for monetary reimbursement. Seems if u have quite good alliance standings with them they dont ask for anything

Yup, if they really dislike you, they will ask for more free stuff when you try and give them free stuff.

I just assumed they didn't want to pay the maintinence for the surplus crap I was giving them so they looked at it as an expense. But maybe I'm wrong and the AI isn't that smart.

As far as I can tell there is no check if the country can afford the new units.
