No peace?

With more regions available at once, who will you trade with? Who will you ignore? Will you trade for products, technologies, military designs or treaties? How much will you trade with your future enemies?

No peace?

Post by Julien »

I've tested the diplomatic ability of the game and I've found a very strange problem. I attacked several countries (without any Casus Belli). I finished them off, occupied every of their territories, enclosed their remaining forces into a small area around the capital and tried to offer peace.
I was far superior in military, research, resources, anything. They had no chance! But they never wanted to accept my peace proposal. No matter if I was in war with several or only one country, they didn't want to accept the peace, not even when I offered them all of my money, stock resources, researches, anything I can. Of course UN always wanted me to make peace, but how could I do it if the other party never accepts it?

moved from support, this is not a bug.

Those regions simply hate you so much that peace is not currently something they are willing to consider. They intend to fight to the death. If you check through some of the other threads here you will find tips and techniques for restoring relations and making peace.

Once a country hates you, and has no diplomatic rating towards you they will never deal with you. Same with the stupid UN. You will keep getting messages about your UN realations even after they throw you out,. And guess what, once you are out, you can never get back in the UN. All the tips and tricks are uselesss if you have zero diplomatic rating.

Do what I do, try to ignore those messages and completely conquer every country that you have zero diplomatic status with they will never negotiate with you.

The AI doesnt have a "we know we are beat, we will accept your deal to save what little we have left" mode.

Diplo deals, including peace, work off of ratings.Their diplomatic rating towards you especially.

So if you want them to accept a peace deal, your gonna have to fill that diplo bar of theirs toward you with some color.

Best way to do so, is to bribe them. One sided deals in which you give them something of high worth, and ask nothing in return.Cash seems to work best...

Do this til their diplo bar reachs circa half filled towards you, and you will then be able to get a peace deal.(You can get a deal with less than half the bar filled, but your gonna pay thru your nose...)
Ive never had a single case, in all the years playing sr2010, and my time in sr2020,that i could not get peace when wanted, after i learned how....

And yes, this has been covered many times in the forums and the search function works nicely here, unlike some other forums.

There is a post on these forums by Balthagor that states, in order for you to negotiate with another country you have to have at least some diplomatic rating, if the bar is empty you cannot deal with them.

In my gameplay this has been true.

Example, Cuba has zero dilpo rating with me, they will not accept any deals, what so ever.

If anyone has figured out how to to deal with country's which you have ZERO diplomatic rating with, please do share here.

Thank you.

Underneath Cuba's side you see where it says Items Requested. to the right of that is a red X and none nex to that. Click that X. Offer them some Money, They will accept.

They will accept.
yes, they accept it but so far I haven't got any luck to make peace any after. but any way, it's silly part of the game, usually the side that WINS can demand money from LOOSING side for peace :))) and LOOSING side has to offer any money it has just to finish war ( and the border can stays where it is at the moment of case fire agreement ).

Heh Isk, But no its not the amount of money you are giving them. Its that you are not requesting anything in return. See the red ciricle in my picture that has none checked?

Sometimes, possibly (never been able to tie it down) when they really, really, really hate you, they will even turn down some of the free offers.

But just up the offer and try again.Sooner or later they take it.

Also, after the new expansion, AI will offer peace on their own for a price. This has been reported and I got such offers in my new game.

Here a picture, I was at war with Estonia (and many others) but we didn't have any direct contact, so no casualties on both sides. After several months i got this offer from the AI, without me haven't offer them nothing before, also no gifts. I did not have any diplomatic contact with them before, so the offer came alone from their initiative.
