Battleships?

Post by przy »

I know that in the timeframe of this game. No nation has them (except the U.S. maybe?) But I was wondering if they were in the game, just curious.

I know that US nations have the Iowa class as a buildable, dunno about the others.

At this time, the Iowa class is the only battleship in the game. More may be added in future updates as we add fictional units. I have some notes on a fictional Chinese battleship already...

Once railguns are researched, an improved battleship hull would be a major improvement to any navy, and the battleship would be the only logical ship for such an extreme weapon to be bassed upon.

You should draft some notes and post in the "new unit suggestions" forum. things like displacement, speed, crew, etc. If you check the tech tree PDF in the game directory you can probably figure out what year it would come available and what techs it would use (max of 2)

U know there's a debate on the US battleships right now. Should they be recommissioned and updated? Actually they should. I mean think about it this way. All the US naval ships are thin skinned compared to the US Iowa and its sister ships. The US Iowa could possibly survive a hit from a anti-ship missle, depending where it is hit at. If they updated the battleships there is one plan to remove the rear gun so it could become like a landing platform for F-35 VTOl's. Even the area below the rear gun could become like an armored hangar. Also they plan to use a new kind of ammo (not sure what it is never could find out what it was). If they do recommission the battleships I hope they make the US Missouri and the US Alabama part of the program.
